My Fiance and I wanted a Christmas Wedding, and Lord Hill Farms was picture perfect. The staff seemed okay at first, but then they changed after we signed our contract. Our phone calls were never returned, our emails bounced back to us because their inbox was always full, and when we had concerns about anything- we could NEVER get past the girl at the front desk. Lord Hill Farms doesn't know how to run a business, and they don't have any customer service.
If they knew how to run a business, they wouldn't invite their clients to the Seattle Wedding Show, and offer a 40% off to everyone else at the Show. That's what happened to us. We signed literally 4 days before the show, and they didn't mention ANYTHING to us about a discount, and we were shocked when we stopped by their booth. It's not even about the discount, it's about the principle! Instead of being apologetic, they were defensive, rude, and the girl even asked me: "If you bought a wedding dress, and it went on sale 1 week later, would you actually return it to get the sale price?" ABSOLUTELY I WOULD- has anyone else heard of Nordstroms?
Just so you know, Lord Hill Farms told me, and I quote: "We don't want the reputation to be that we give in when there's pressure." Okay- well I guess what they would rather have is angry brides writing bad reviews so people wont make the same mistake they made and have their deposit stolen. Unfortunately I can't give them a 1/2 star rating, but I could if I would.
Like I said earlier, the facility is gorgeous, but they don't know how to handle a business, or take care of their clients. I can only imagine what it would have been like if something else went wrong down the line.
But after looking over their costs, why would I want to be at a place that charges $2 a napkin, $1 a glass, I bring in my own ice, buckets, and I pay them $400 to serve my guests water (which I provide), in addition to everything else. Oh ya, and it's a farm but they don't allow any animals?????
For anyone reading out there, I don't want you to think I'm a difficult person. I am easy to work with, friendly, and train people in customer service for a living. But what they did was wrong and I want people to know about it. They wouldn't even let me talk to a manager, and when they told me they would call me back, they didn't. And I would have to call them back only to find out that they were out of town for a week.
I ended up finding a much better, and more affordable place where the staff is AMAZING and I am just now starting to enjoy planning my wedding. Just don't get taken advantage of like I did.
Book with them at your own risk.
