Friends who live nearby insist that there are far better steakhouses, even Outback, but my godchildren don't consider a visit to Fort Lauderdale complete without a night at Longhorn. We usually end up at the one on University and Nova Drive in Davie and have yet to be disappointed. Our steaks are always cooked exactly to order and well-prepared, and no fault can be found with the mashed, baked, fried or baked sweet potato on the side, or any of the vegetables that can be added. We usually order rib-eyes with a side of asparagus, in fact, we always do, so I can't really speak for the rest of the menu. It's standard steakhouse fare - steaks, chicken, a pork chop, seafood, meat and seafood combos, and is neither the cheapest nor most expensive. From the 7 year old to the ...well...me, we give it a two thumbs up. Desserts are obscene and should be ordered one per 4-6 people, if at all.
