My husband and I went out last night, looking forward to visiting Lone Star as we've done in the past. Apparently we went at the wrong time. We got there an hour before closing time and it was obvious that the focus was not on us. For starters, the waitress took the last bit of the appetizer that my husband was working on as well as my plate, even though I had asked for more rolls. We tend to make two meals out of this somewhat pricey place, so we asked for more rolls three times throughout our visit, and every time we got more they were less hot and much harder, until it got to the point where I felt I was being given day-olds from the bakery. The longer we were there, the less the waitress made eye contact but rather said and did things as if we were just a short stop on her run to the back, where they were surely preparing things to be done by the end of the night. The food is normally great here, making it worth the price, but my steak was somewhat tough which disappointing, especially since I had gotten the same cut at Ponderosa earlier in the week and it was three times more tender. Overall, this was a disappointing visit and something to keep in mind the next time we decide to dine.
