Lone Star Steakhouse

My husband and I went out last night, looking forward to visiting Lone Star as we've done in the past. Apparently we went at the wrong time. We got there an hour before closing time and it was obvious that the focus was not on us. For starters, the waitress took the last bit of the appetizer that my husband was working on as well as my plate, even though I had asked for more rolls. We tend to make two meals out of this somewhat pricey place, so we asked for more rolls three times throughout our visit, and every time we got more they were less hot and much harder, until it got to the point where I felt I was being given day-olds from the bakery. The longer we were there, the less the waitress made eye contact but rather said and did things as if we were just a short stop on her run to the back, where they were surely preparing things to be done by the end of the night. The food is normally great here, making it worth the price, but my steak was somewhat tough which disappointing, especially since I had gotten the same cut at Ponderosa earlier in the week and it was three times more tender. Overall, this was a disappointing visit and something to keep in mind the next time we decide to dine. more

Was looking forward to a wonderful dinner with the hubby. Ordered steak & shrimp and baked potatoe. Wait staff was loud & fooling around. We were seated in the back, it was freezing. Food arrived, potato was lukewarm, the butter wouldn't even melt. Tried to get waitresses attention, by the time I did see her, was done with dinner. Told her about the potato and she said she would bring another. Didn't want it since, I was done with the rest of the dinner. I was very disappointed, she didn't at least offer to reduce the bill. We come to Mt. Pleasant about once a month, I don't plan on stopping at Lone Star again. more

Very Cold INSIDE!!!. They kept the double doors open because they were busy. 25 degrees outside. BUT..... that made it 52 degrees inside!! Everyone was wearing their winter jackets! Told the staff , ""Turn up the heat!"" Our waitress said"" Good LUCK with that!!"".. ""IT is ALWAYS COLD!"" Geeesh. !!! more

Service is good if they think you have the money to tip. Its basically a bar setting, loud and really really smokey. It like Outback only the quailty of the food is not as well. The steaks are tiny! The salads are good. Pros: Nice atmosphere for going out with the girls Cons: snotty servers, can be too crowded the tables are so close together more
