My daughter has been taking the group guitar lessons at this school for almost a year now and loves it. Group lessons are offered ?dojo? style, where the students earn colored guitar straps as they advance in skill level. This is a great incentive, and instructor/owner Kirt Phillips connects well with the kids. My daughter even enjoys the recitals! I highly recommend this school. more

Love this school! My son is in guitar dojo and loves it, he looks forward to advancing and has liked all instructors he has worked with. He has fun and is learning lots. I'd definitely recommend this school to anyone even those with younger kids. more

Great Place for all ages and stages 4/6/2011

I've found Lonestar School of Music to be friendly and inviting place that really gets the Austin experience right. I participated in their stereo amplifier building class and thoroughly enjoyed it! Kurt is an engaging owner and puts music and those that want to practice and pursue it first. I'll be back when I work up the courage to finally take guitar! more

Best Music School and Store 9/13/2006

Took private piano lessons recently and this place blew me away! Teacher was great and facilities were excellent. I will take lessons there again. Pros: Great ambience, no flourescent lights! more

Coolest music school in town 8/17/2006

This school is just getting started but you wouldn't know it from the interior and organization. The inside of the school is concrete floors with cowhide rugs and modern leather furniture. The lobby/waiting area is a place that you could hang out all day in and read music magazines. There is also a store where they carry Washburn guitars and basses as well as Line 6 amps. Pros: atmosphere, parking, great products more
