My family has been eating these doughnuts for over 20 year...none of us have ever had a better doughnut. They are made the old fashioned way...no big machines mass producing...so...

Worst

Bought a birthday cake at the lone star bakery after a friend raved about their cakes. Chose a ""Hamburger"" cake (looks like a burger..made of cake and frosting and was thrilled...

Wow, these are great donuts! I love the donut holes too- they always give you more than you pay for, and they just melt in your mouth. Often the donuts they give me are still warm, fresh from the oven- they have to bake constantly to keep up with the demand! It's always busy, but worth it. Drive thru is convenient. Their kolaches are also good. more

Even My Dad from Missouri Has Heard About Round Rock Donuts! 9/13/2005

This place is so yummy! When my dad came in for a visit, this little bakery was top on his list of places to see - with no input from me! Like the others have said, the yellow glazed donuts cannot be beat! And this has been shown as the crowds have not ceased at this bakery even after the "big donut boys" moved into town. I highly recommend a visit - even from as far as south Austin. You won't regret the drive. more

Famous Round Rock Donuts 9/13/2005

This bakery has been around in the Round Rock area for at least 35 years (that I know of) and they're the only place you can get fresh FAMOUS Round Rock Donuts. These are glazed donuts that are yellow and so good you can't stop at one! They make them all day so they're always warm when you get them. Cost is about $4.50 a dozen. I like Krispy Kreme donuts but these are Waaaayyy better! more

Best Donut around hands down! 8/19/2005

I have been eating Lone Start donuts for over 20 years now and I can't find a donut that is better. I was so worried when it burned down a few years ago that it would not reopen but was thrilled when they did. The donuts are some of the best. If you can get past the yellow color. The location is great in downtown Round Rock and even has a drive thru which is perfect for me. My favorite is their donut holes. You can get a dozen for $.75. But I have never left there without them filling the bag so full. I order all of our birthday cakes there. The prices are comparable to any grocery store and the way they decorate and the taste is like home made!! I can't say enough great things about this place. more
