Lochmere Golf Course Stinks!!!!! 7/30/2011

Went out to Lochmere today with temps over 100F. I have 3 main gripes about Lochmere. 1. No water for water coolers - I specifically asked the manager if they were going to maintain water in the coolers and they ran out!!!! 2. The greens suck! They have 2 different types of grass growing on them and they are the worst I have seen in NC this year! 3. The rough was 4"" deep! It was so deep we lost balls throughout the day. It was not even fair it was so deep and I almost shot in the 30's on the back 9. Save your money and go somewhere else. Lochmere used to be a good golf course. I would have given them a 0 star rating but the web site would not allow it. more

Golfer Beware 8/5/2010

Before you play this course and definitely before you sign up for membership, check out the condition of the greens. They are virtually unplayable. The rest of the course is in pretty good shape. Tee boxes are well maintained, fairways are in good shape, but the greens have been destroyed. It was one of the biggest disappointments in a long time. more

I would play this course again 5/19/2003

A relatively easy course. Its longest hole is 501 yds. Quite a few holes that allow one to pull out the driver and rip it off the tee. Greens are in great shape. They are quite fast and are hard to hold even when wet. Wouldnt recommend playing after a lot of rain. Course can get saturated quickly. Very scenic course as well. more

Golf with an attitude. 8/6/2002

I can't really rate this course because the two times I have been out there I was greated first by a lighting storm (late afternoon) after playing the first four holes, and then was run-off by a D.A.R.E tourney (sfter three holes) that I was told nothing about when my tee times where made the week before. The service was rude and lacked any understanding for the working class. Being charged $39.00 on a weekday is an insult, compared to the quality of service and challenge I can get 1 hour in any direction anywhrere else. I would NOT recommend this course to an enemy let alone a friend! more
