I was in town, excited to try out a new restaurant. A ""built to order"" sandwich shop, but somehow upscale. I was with a large group, so there was a variety of selections ordered: sandwiches, omelets, quiche, taco salad, and some accouterments. more

While the market may be flooded with johnny come lately sandwich restaurants the Loaf & Jug has been a milwaukee instatution for over 25 years. The food is truly homemade from the daily soup choices to the wonderful pies and desserts (the pies are to die for). Everything about the L&J is outstanding including the well trained and very helpful staff, your questions will be answered politly and promptly and even with a smile, don't be surprised if they don't remember your name after your 1st visit.
