Horrible doctor, misdiagnosed and almost killed my cat 2/7/2013

I would give no stars. She told me my cat who had been in a fight, needed his leg amputated. she would do it for only $2100, or she said that she will just put him down right here right now. for another ridiculous fee! I panicked an started fundraising for my cat... I took him to another vet to see how much the surgery would be there. They x-rayed the leg and said it was an infection of the bone. the cat would need antibiotics not surgery!!! $30 dollar exam an $10 antibiotics my cat was walking better the next day! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS VET UNLESS YOU WANT A 2000 DOLLAR BILL AN A DEAD PET more

Beware 7/6/2010

Dreadful experiences. One cat was killed by callous treatment and shoddy misinformed follow up--when I called concerned with cat's behaviour after a procedure I was told by a receptionist to do the very opposite of what I should have and ended up with 3 visits late night to emergency vet and finally had to put him down(at another very loving vet)because of the damage done. Also had a 5 week kitten in with a terrible spider bite on leg, swollen to 4 times normal and was passed off with no treatment or instruction. The leg was infected and nearly lost. We were kept waiting while the 'Dr' had a nail appointment--long fake nails on a vet? The treed raccoon photos in lobby were very disturbing too.\r The front staff was great and pleasant but the doctor(s) were criminal. more

A first Impression is a lasting Impression... 12/10/2008

I must say I was not impressed with the quality of care at Live Oak. Our appointment was scheduled for 4:15 and the Dr. didnt even see us until close to 6 o'clock. When she finally did see us she didn't even bother to introduce herself or answer any of my concerns. I am a first time dog owner and while visiting Live Oak my pup was diagnosed with Hook Worms, the Dr. did not debrief me on this condition and was eager to pass the responsibilities on to her staff. She also scrutinized my pets hygiene and suggested that since I clean my ears more than once a week, I should do the same for my pup. To measure a dog against human standards is just absurd. I also bath daily does this mean I have to bath my pup on a daily basis? The receptionist was enthusiastic and very helpful. Hopefully Doc. was just having an off day, as far as first impressions go she left a horrible one on me and my pet. more
