I'm a first time reviewer here, but this place surprised me so much I had to say so. Lil Texas is a classic ""locals"" joint. You won't find a formulaic, corporate marketing-inspired decor here! But, the folks treated us like old friends. The food is prepared with real passion and it shows. The brisket was truly amazing (every bit as good as my favorite Somerville bbq joint) and the pork tenderloin was tres delish. Sides were very well done too: spicy beans and a perfect coleslaw were my choices. The kids don't get stuck with cookie-cutter, factory formed chicken nuggets or corn dogs either. Everything was freshly battered, moist and tender - even my pickiest eater enjoyed eating here.
Pros: Very good bbq, friendly people
Cons: This place is sort of out in the middle of nowhere...which makes it a hidden gem of sorts
