We initially enrolled at Little Scholars in May 2012. At that time we completed the paperwork and paid the $150.00 registration fee to hold a spot. We were due to begin care in June of 2012, but due to loss of employment, we did not begin care at that time. She stated that whenever the situation changed, that we could start at that time and registration fee would rollover.
We began care on Jan 3, 2013. Knowing that there would be an adjustment period, I did not act on my initial instinct to go elsewhere after the first few days. After about a month of being dissatisfied with the care and the change of policy at a whim, I found care elsewhere and gave 2 week's notice (as a professional courtesy) that we would be leaving. She was in the middle of a tour with a potential parent, so I refrained from giving notice on Monday, Jan 28th. I gave notice the next morning and advised I was obligated until Tues, Feb 12. Being that Little scholars does not prorate tuition, I decided to stay until Friday, Feb 15, but requested if possible, we would like to leave sooner.
During the time after I gave notice, we were attempting to transition my child from bottles to sippy cups. She refused to prepare bottles with whole milk, so I continued to bring in prepared bottles. Angela and I agreed that we would offer the sippy cup first and if my child didn't drink enough of it, he would be offered his bottle. After the first few days, I was advised that he drank all of the milk from the sippy and would take home the full bottles that I brought that day. At some point, Angela decided that she would not provide the milk in his sippy and began to pour the milk from the bottles into the sippy cups. On the morning of Tues, Feb 12, I expressed my concern with this policy, as once the milk is poured out of the bottle, it cannot be poured back in. I was concerned that he would not be getting enough milk (he was not drinking his full serving of milk out of sippy at home).
