I've always considered locksmiths to be craftsmen. Evidently not so. The new $ 160 ($10 above local hardware store) Medeco deadbolt, through crooked and a bit battered, graces the door seemingly apologetic. This installer, however, should consider a career change. Demolition perhaps? Poorly equipped with tools yet brimming with attitude, he stubbornly plodded on through the task. Why bring a hammer if vice-grips will do. A tip: If the components were properly aligned, neither would be needed. A level? Too fragile I expect - glass would break. So I'm annoyed. The additional $ 125 installation cost I paid by prior agreement felt like a charitable contribution to a cause I do not support. Heed my advice: look elsewhere for quality craftsmanship.
