I thought I was back in Italy! 12/7/2002

Being from Italy, I am often reluctant to try Italian restaurants because I have been let down so many times... I admit, I went to Little Italy with a closed mind, but soon after stepping inside their door, I knew this was no ordinary Italian restaurant...the atmoshpere, the aromas, everything brought me back to Italy...well before I even tried the food! All of their entrees looked extraordinary....the service, the preperation, was the closest thing to the true Italian experience I had found since moving from Italy 14 years ago. The food was amazing...I tried one of their specials, and was floored by how well it was created and by how amazing it tasted...It was easy to find a wine that enhanced the experience, they had to have at least 350 wines on the list...I have been back many many times, and each time it reminds me of my home...Italy. more

a great place 12/7/2002

After being disappointed at many Italian places we finally found an awsome restaurant. We first walked in to a place called Bacchus bar,(which is connected to little italy) and it was ever so charming. We had a glass of wine before dinner and then had a fabulous dining experience. My only complaint is that it is a little crowded but it's worth it. Bravo! Pros: Romantic!, Romantic! more

Little Italy & Bacchus Bar. The best Italian restaurant I have been to in the U.S. An excellent menu but I usually have what's on special. The food, the service, the atmosphere, fantastic! A great wine list and the best stocked bar I have ever seen. The owners travel to Italy every year to ""keep current"". Everything is perfect right down to the music. A real owner/chef operated restaurant as one of the two owners (brothers in law) are usually there. Keep up the excellent work guys! Pros: Great Food,, Great Service,, Great Atmosphere more

Little Italy is fantastic. They have it all. Fabulously authentic food representing the many different regions of Italy. Excellent service with attention to detail. The new Bacchus Bar addition with it's more casual menu would be a hit in any major city including New York and Milano. A huge selection of wines and a dazzling selection behind the bar. My favorite restaurant period. Pros: Fantastic Food, Excellent Service, Great Bar Cons: Tight Parking, Not Big Enough more

The most authentic Italian cuisine 10/29/2002

This place is just like dining in Italy. The atmosphere is charming(I love the romantic table in the closet!!). Food is incredible and the wine list goes on forever. Service is also excellent. A Miust try for those who like real Italian cuisine. Also there is a brand new bar addition that is a great compliment to thr restaurant. more

I absolutely love Little Italy in Northville. I feel so lucky that it's close enough for me that I can walk here. The food is incredible and the servers are excellent. Perfect pasta, Excellent veal & steaks, great seafood... My wife jokingly tells everyone that we moved to Northville just so we could be so close to this most Italian of Italian restaurants. This folks, is the real deal. The addition of the Bacchus Bar with it's more casual setting and menu was just what the area needed. This is the best Italian restaurant that I have been to in the Detroit Area. I have been to most of them and this is my favorite. Fantastic food and excellent service. Yes, Yes, and Yes! 9/25/2002

Although this is quite a hike for me I eat here often. I have friends on this side of town and they invited my wife and I to dinner here about three years ago. I have been back many times since. I lived in Italy for two years and my work still takes me to Italy a couple times a year. Little Italy is the closest thing to being there I have experienced. I have even taken cooking courses in Italy so I think I know what I'm talking about. The food is divine, the service is great and the wine list (very important) is exciting. Yes, Yes, Yes! Wow! Very impressive. I recently discovered this place on a visit to Northville. I can't believe I had not been there before. What a find. Fantastic food to die for. I was there last night and we are taking our friends there this weekend. The wine selection is the best I have seen in any Italian restaurant in our area. more

I travel to Italy at least once a year on business. This place is the real thing. The closest you will come to being there. Food to die for, excellent service, the best Italian wine list (I have seen) in the detroit area. A world class bar too! more

(ugh) good food but cigar smoke?? 5/23/2002

The seating, food, and service were great THEN 2 men pulled out cigars and starting smoking them, through our entire meal. We left without dessert. The staff said there was not a smoking policy for the bar area. So while 2 men enjoyed their cigars the rest of the soom suffered. I suggest no cigars smoking until after 9 or 10 pm. This is not an uncommon policy. For a high end eating experience this place needs to address cigars. The room ventilation can handle cigarette smoke. Pros: noisy, but just right, fun place Cons: no cigar policy more
