I visited the Little Bear for the first time on Valentine's night. The band was smokin' hot and the place was packed to the rafters with friendly people. It was a great contrast to the typical Seattle bar, where people are definitely more reserved. And yes, it's true - it's a great place to hook up, if that's what you're there for, but no one was obnoxious. I was there on a girls' night out, to listen to some great music and drink a few beers. The crowd was 50/50 guys/gals, every age from 21 to 60-something, and it was Standing Room Only. Yeah, the service is a bit cranky, and the menu is basic bar food, so don't go there for a dining experience. Go there to literally rub shoulders with a crowd of partiers who were very welcoming to this newcomer.
Pros: great bands, friendly crowd, cold beer, park on the street or in nearby lots
Cons: don't come here to eat, very crowded so don't expect people to respect your ""space""
