The Cheese Dip tasted aweful. Very over seasoned, and I am a smoker with shot taste buds. The Mahi Enchiladas had no taste. I was told they would be rich. No where near rich. ...

NEXT Candidate for Kitchen Nightmares 3/20/2011

Our waitress and service were excellent. Perhaps in the summer sitting on the patio, my experience may have been different, but, I was there on Saturday March 19, 2011 at about 1400 and I was not pleased. In fact, I rarely complain, (I lived on M.R.E's for 10 months, I?m very humble) but I need to let people know that this place, I was NOT happy!! The table/booth were sticky, the silverware was filthy, the Coke products were watered down, chips cold, salsa bland (Cilantro and un-ripened tomato's), the queso, was burned and had a layer of plastic cheese product on top of it. The chimichanga was room temperature inside and BARELY fried, rice/beans had definitely been sitting under a heat lamp probably since they opened, or maybe they were yesterdays, regardless they were aesthetically very unpleasing and tasted bland, in fact the best part about this cantina was leaving. 1 beer, 1 soda 2 entrees 1 appetizer - $39, best of luck to you Angies Cantina.... more

Tex-Mex? more like BEST-Mex! 10/1/2010

I recently had the opportunity to take a trip up the North Shore with my partner for the weekend. While on a stroll around Canal Park, we stumbled upon Little Angie's Cantina and Grill. Being a Mexican food enthusiast I was skeptical at first, but the deck was packed so we decided it couldn't be too bad if it was that busy... more

Nasty! Tex-Mex??? more like Mexweigian 10/8/2009

We stayed at the Inn on Lake Superior (Great Place) for our anniversary. Across the street was Little Angies, figured it couldn?t be too bad for convenient lunch spot. Boy were we wrong! The fresh salsa looked like mush, the chips were soggy and stale. We waited forever to get served. When the food came out it was terrible and cold. Pros: Nice Location Cons: Food is terrible more

Yuck! 8/25/2009

The Cheese Dip tasted aweful. Very over seasoned, and I am a smoker with shot taste buds. The Mahi Enchiladas had no taste. I was told they would be rich. No where near rich. No flavor, but they same heavy seasoning that was in the dip. I gave it 2 stars for the Margaritas and atmosphere. Come for the Margaritas, but eat before you come. Pros: Great Margarita and deck Cons: The worse Tex-Mex that I have ever had. more

Best Happy Hour and Best Deck in town!!! 7/26/2009

1/2 price drinks 3-6 Monday-Friday in Canal Park, best kept secret bottles of beer are $2, can't beat that! Also they don't believe in crappy booze like Karkov! Pros: Super Fun staff! Cons: long waits when its nice more

Worst food I've paid for in at least last ten years 5/24/2009

We went to Little Angie's on vacation and it was such a bad experience I have to warn anyone else looking to eat there. The food quality was poor (stale chips, soggy rice, gross meats) and we spent $31 for two people. You would be much better off getting take out Taco Bell and finding a nice park to eat at than going to Little Angie's. Pros: Location Cons: Food, service and price more

Great Tex-Mex 11/10/2008

I would first like to say that I strongly disagree with the last review. I have been to Little Angie's several times and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The prices I would say are pretty reasonable considering if you would try to go to the grocerie store and buy all of the ingredents and make the items yourself and you know that everything is made to order...where at other meican restaurants I would have to question that. I also think that they have the best margaritas in town were else can you find such a HUGE selection of tequilas and flavors to put into your marg? So in other words I would suggest to all who read this that you go try it for yourself! Oh also, in the summer it is the best place to sit outside and just enjoy a good meal and great atmosphere! Pros: great service, huge selection of drinks and food, accomodating, lots of vegitarian options, glueten free menu options Cons: small bar sometimes hard to get a seat more

Overpriced average food 9/19/2008

You can get such better food at better prices at Hacienda del Sol or Maya. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!! Pros: Good location Cons: Expensive, bad food more

Best place in town 8/3/2005

My husband and I go to Little Angie's often. We are from New Mexico and this place has the best tex mex food you will ever find. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The food excellent and their new summer margarita menu has so many great choices, it is hard to pick only one. We recommend that you try a couple anyways. The deck dining is the best in town. Right in the heart of Canl Park. When in town, go, you will not be disappointed!!! Pros: great staff, excellent food, awesome margaritas more

Great food, location, and service 6/2/2005

The black bean tacos rule! We went in on a very crowded night, and had appetizers and drinks at the bar, and the best tacos we have ever had once we were seated. The staff was quick, professional, and very helpful. We will be back Pros: Food, Quality, Service more

jadams 3/23/2005

The fajitas are awesome. Last time there I got the shrimp and it was piled high over a bed of onions and peppers. And lots of peppers unlike other places which only put a few peppers amongst onions. My wife got the veggie and it was so good. peppers, onions, zucchini, squash, pineapple!!! the best I have ever seen. We will be back often!! more

My wife and I love going to Little Angie's in Canal Park. The staff is great, so is the food. We love the margaritas. Best in town. more

We go to Little Angie's about every other week. The food is exceptional and the service great. The last time we went was on Valentine's day and we were not disappointed. It is nice to know that even when a restaurant is super busy, you can feel like the server really is glad that you came in. The bartenders are a lot of fun. In the summer, you just can't beat the deck. I wouldn't spend Grandma's Marathon anywhere else in the city. We highly recommend this restaurant Pros: quaility staff, atmosphere, tasty food more

User review by mckk 2/17/2005

This is the best restaurant in Duluth, by far!! The service does not compare. The whole staff is so much fun. My first time there, they made me feel like a regular and we go back every time we can. Those people have fun at work and it shows. The salsa is the best anywhere and I have never had a better shrimp enchilada in my life. I highly recommend it!!! Pros: fun, great staff, great food more

A regular stop! 12/6/2004

My girlfriend and I can never decide where to eat when we come to Duluth and we always end up settling on Little Angie's. That must mean something good. I recommend any of the dishes with the spicy black beans. I love those beans!!!! The shrimp fajitas are very good and so are the enchiladas. Even something as simple as the tacos are pretty decent. The chips and salsa are also good, although I would agree that the chips tend to be pretty salty sometimes. Wash everything down with a Lake Superior beer, especially the Mesabi Red or the Special Ale. I'm not into Tequila, but they have a very large tequila selection also. Pros: consistently good, menu variety, location more

Nice Decor 5/4/2004

Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. Took a while to get seated, but when we did, everything was quick after that. The margarita wasn't blended that well, so it was a chore to drink. The food was good. I had the two tacos with rice and beans. The salsa was great. The chips are big and thick. I would go back. Pros: Great location more

A Good Lunch at a Great Locale 8/20/2002

The biggest factor benefiting Little Angie's is its location. Canal Park makes for one of the best day-trips in all Minnesota, and Little Angie's is a decent spot to stop for lunch, especially on a nice day when you can snare a spot on the patio. While the menu is unspectacular and service sometimes quite slow, they serve pretty good Tex-Mex-American fare in the vein of the most popular chain restaurants. We've never been disappointed with our beef or chicken fajitas and they make a mean (as in good) lemonade. The ambiance is lively with a sort of T.G.I.Mexican slant. While you're unlikely to stand up and shout ""Holy Cow! This is the best mexican food I've ever tasted!"", you'll probably get what you'd expect most other places - food that appeals to a broad range of tastebuds. Pros: Location, Location, Location, Nice Summertime Patio Cons: Slow Service, Unspectacular Food more
