Lion chois is by far the best school I have ever been to. Throughout my life I have gone to many different schools, but I have never been to one like this. First of all, this is a legitimate school. Meaning becoming a black belt here actually means something; you are recognized as a black belt around the world instead of just within the school. I had a black belt in another martial art, but I couldn't even pick up my training as a black belt at another school when I moved. The passion the masters have is incredible and it shows in the students who come here. All of the students can't wait until their next class to come train. The curriculum is actually structured and goes through everything this school has to offer. I love Lion Chois and I'm sure anyone else who comes here will too! more

I have been going here for about two years now, and I think that it is amazing! I feel like the dedication of the Masters has made me even more excited to go to class than when I started. During class there is always someone there to help, the Master or a higher belt. There is a great sense of pride and camaraderie in this school. I also love that everyone has created a family, and anyone is welcome there. I could not imagine going anywhere else. more

Best Taekwondo school in Maryland. The testing fee is not $500 dollars. The testing fee for black belt is $450 including a Kukkiwon certificate from Korea, a new black belt uniform, a trophy, and a black belt with your name in English and Korean on it. I am currently a new black belt at Lion Choi's Taekwondo, and I love it. I am 25 years old, and I AM STILL motivated to train just as hard every day. The school has been here for over 30 years, and counting. Grandmaster Bok Sung Choi still teaches here and he is a 9th degree black belt. It took me a little over 3 years to obtain my black belt. They do not push the children to test. They only test when they are ready to test. There were tests I was not allowed to take because my master did not think I was ready to do so. The fees at Lion Choi's are nothing compared to what some of these other schools are charging. I have been involved in martial arts for mostly my whole life. Lion Choi's offers you a quality education as well as a great self defense education. On top of learning Taekwondo you also have to learn about the Korean culture and the language. The quality of education here is above and beyond other marital arts schools. I will be here forever. The children love it, the adults love it, and I love it. I would not recommend any other school but this one. more

This is a great school. The dedication that the masters have for teaching can not be matched anywhere else. This school has helped me to be able to focus on my combat training in the Army. The structure and discipline here are great. I would recommend this school to everyone I know more

Excessive fees 2/14/2012

As a parent, this school makes a lot of money off your kids by charging ridiculous amount of FEES for one belt and those fees will increase to $500 for a black belt! I don't like how they push the kids through when they are not ready to test. Self defense was only taught toward the end of the 2-year term. If you would like your kids to learn more self defense, consider Jeet Kune Do or KravMaga! more

Amazing Taekwondo School 7/21/2010

I love Lion Choi's! I can push this sport as hard or as soft as I want here. I can come to class 6 days a week if I want or only the required 2-3 (if you are in the black belt program). I can participate in tournaments or not. They understand people want different things from tkd and they are prepared to meet those needs. I love the flexibility this dojang offers. Grandmaster Choi has worked very hard and has devoted his life to tkd so when I walk into the dojang I know that I will be getting true tkd training from a family that has a love and passion for the art and not just someone who is trying to make money. I currently have my whole family enrolled and we have all changed for the better. Your core strength will improve as well as your balance, stamina and mental focus. My children are becoming for focused and aware of their bodily movements. It's wonderful watching them develop. Even if you have a little ways to commute Lion Choi's is worth the trip! I hope this helps you in choosing a tkd dojang. I look forward to sparing you soon ;) Pros: constructive, encouraging, motivating, disciplined, focused more

The best Tae Kwon Do school hands down 5/15/2006

We sent our daughter there since she was three. Master Bok Sun Choi is a internationally recognized Master, and his son is an excellent teacher. The part about Lion Choi school that is so excellent is the focus on the discipline and respect. We moved out of the area and had to send our daughter to another 'higly rated' TKD school, and found that the focus just wasn't there, despite the fact that the teacher was an Olympic medalist and internationally reknown. The kids weren't taught the deep respect, didn't pay attention, didn't learn as much or as well. Lion Choi creates a desire in the child to really want to do well - they want to do things properly. It's really something you can't find anywhere, and the best place to put your child to learn these important lifelong skills. They are truly the best. Pros: total student focus, instructor excellence, attention to detail more

The best Taekwondo School hands down. 3/6/2006

The Grand Master, Master, and Instructors are very highly experienced. The classes are very well organized and structured for both children and adults. The training is the best hands down, great work out, excellent instructions, and fun and exciting too. I highly recommend Lion Choi's Taekwondo school. Pros: Lots of room, great instructions, excellent programs more
