Before I ate here, I had no exposure to Ethiopian food. After I looked at the menu, I was not sure what I was going to get. I left very satisfied...

  • The Scene
In 1988, Linden Row was restored as a full-service inn, replete with Southern hospitality. Authentic antique pieces from the mid-1800s are utilized throughout the inn. The 71 spacious Victorian-style guest rooms and suites feature high ceilings and tall windows.

    The Details
In the gardens of Linden Row, Edgar Allan Poe wrote his famous poem "To Helen." Named after the Linden trees that adorned the gardens, the property was occupied by several schools at the turn of the century. Irene Gibson of the "Gibson Girl" fame and her sister Nancy Langhorne, known as Lady Astor, attended Miss Ellett's School, the precursor to St. Catherine's School today. The inn is within walking distance of the Coliseum and Convention Center, Virginia Commonwealth University, the Medical College of Virginia, the riverfront and the state capitol.
