Excellent care!!! 1/26/2012

I brought my cat to Dr. Akbawy because she was attacked by a dog and as a result, her tail was severed and her hind area was severely injured. Dr. Akbawy and his staff have been kind and diligent in their care of her and have nursed her back to health. Not only has Dr. Akbawy and his staff provided excellent care but his rates are very reasonable compared to most. Dr. Akbawy and his staff are very friendly and caring and I have been able to call and visit at any time. Because of the care that my cat has received, she has been able to heal more rapidly then expected. What I have appreciated most during this traumatic experience is the genuine concern that has been expressed by Dr. Akbawy and his staff. more

Great Cat Hospital 11/15/2010

I took my Cat to L.A.C.H. after a terrible experience with another vet. My cat, which I rescued from the street was diagnosed with Feline Luekemia. I didn't know what to do and the first vet didn't even tell me how to take care of him. My little guy was good spirits at first but then stopped eating about a month after i took him in. so I decided to take him to LACH to get a second opinion. \r \r The Vet checked my little guy and noticed his gums were white at this point which the other vet DIDN'T EVEN CHECK. He told me look he's anemic and that he could give him medication to feel better but that I would end up coming back and the end result would be the same given his condition. So I had to make the hardest decision ever, keep the little guy alive and hope he wasn't suffering or put him down. I couldn't see my little guy suffer so I put him down. \r \r I liked vets (and staffs) honesty and compation not only for my little guy but for me. \r more

Steer Clear - Not Safe 8/17/2010

This was a horrible experience. We brought our cat in and she was diagnosed with cat diabetes and then over prescribed insulin; the doctor did not want to have anything to do with teaching us how to administer it or monitor her condition. We were told to give the cat 2 units of insulin by the pharmacy (they called in the prescription) and were not allowed to keep her at the vet for monitoring her first doses, and were not told to monitor or taught how to monitor her blood sugar. He just billed us and sent us on our way. Pretty amazing that this guy is still in business. We even had to call to receive this diagnoses - they didnt think to call us immediately when her urinalysis came back toxic. There is one doctor here and it's very difficult to get any good information from anyone else, so don't expect any quick answers on anything. The staff does not want to deal with you, it sounds like they are tired of passing along information to the single doctor here, and most of the time, they either didnt relay the questions or notes, or if they did, the doctor didnt call back. I am very surprised that there were any positive reviews on this site this place - there was not one positive thing I can say about the doctor and this staff, and I am a very positive person. For the health of your animal you should look elsewhere, and get neighbor recommendations on vets in the area. more

Very Pleased 9/29/2009

When we moved I needed a vet near by I opened the phone book and found Lincoln Ave Cat Hospiral in my town. I didn't know anyone yet in the neighborhood so I just took the chance that they were good.\r I am SO HAPPY that I did. The staff and doctor are great! They will answer any questions you have and will take the time to make sure you understand everything. I am never rushed out of the office or off the phone. more

Beware, Beware, Beware!!!!! 9/24/2009

I am going to do my best to stick to only facts in this review although it will be very difficult due to my high emotions.\r \r If you are on the net, looking for a vet for your cat you obviously care for the animal. This review is for you people especially!!!\r If you truly do care for your animal do not bring them here!!\r \r \r We left our Best,Best friend ""Mooch"" with Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital for a 6 day stay while we went on a vacation.\r Normally, we would have friends stay with and feed him, but recently Mooch had not been feeling well. \r We had taken him to L.A.C.H for treatment & the place seemed nice. This was most importantly due to the 2 assistants that were helping us. (Tom & Steve)\r They were so great to my pal Mooch. They gave him so much love, and they were so gentile with him.\r That 1st visit was great.\r ....Anyway, we had a vacation coming up, and we wanted Mooch to stay there while we were away, because we felt that the guys (Tom & Steve) were so attentive, AND because Mooch hadn't been feeling well. \r Since it was a Cat Hospital it should be the perfect place, Right?WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r \r As it Turns out, the Dr. is the ONLY DR. THERE!!!!!!!!!! There is NO OTHER BACK-UP.\r If he, for whatever reason Can't or Won't get to the Place, there is no other back-up Dr. to treat your animal. \r On the last day before we got home Mooch had gotten real sick.\r The Dr. was ""out-of-the-country"" (Which I was not told) \r The office staff in they're Brilliance decided not to bring him to anyother vet for treatment. They just called my cell phone which was turned off because I was on the plane & left a message saying that ""Mooch needs to go to the Emergency Room.""\r If they had 1 shred of brain matter, they would have looked at the boarding form that I had to sign when I dropped Mooch off.\r It had a emergency contact phone number on it that would have put them in contact with someone otherthan my voicemail.\r 7 hours later, sitting in a plane on the tarmac at Newark Airport, I got the message.\r I immediately called, and spoke to the office staff.\r Actually, Spoke is a nice word for it, I ""convinced"" them to take Mooch to wherever he needed to go. \r You See, even though I had already signed a form that stated My authorization for medical treatment, they wouldn't take Mooch to get help until they spoke to someone.\r I reached Oradell Animal Hospital about 20 minutes after they got Mooch there. He was barley alive. He had held on long enough for us to get home. We were able to say Goodbye, Thank him for all he has been to us, and also were able to be there with him when he died.\r \r My anger is because we trusted this place with our friends life, and you know the rest. \r \r This is what to take away from my experience; \r I trusted Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital to take care of my buddy for me while I was away, THEY DID NOT.\r \r And I MUST SAY AGAIN, I had signed all Papers that would have allowed medical treatment.\r \r If anyone wants to know details or hear real rage about this place feel free to email me. Pros: None!! Cons: See review bellow. more

Wonderful, cat loving environment. Very Clean. Caring staff 7/12/2007

Wonderful, cat loving environment. Very Clean. Caring staff. We use this animal hospital for our rescued cats and kittens, from the youngest to the oldest. They even have a staff at night for the cats that stay overnight. Over 60 of our cats and kittens have been treated here. They have spay/neutered several cats, provided dental cleanings and surgeries, emergency and critical care, as well as routine vaccinations, a wide range of tests, diagnosed and treated general and sever illnesses. We are very pleased with the quality service, and grateful for their generosity to our organization.\r Friends of Homeless Animals of No. NJ,Inc.\r Pros: Parking, Good Service, Nice Environment more

It's the best hospital ever!! 5/3/2007

I cannot put into words of how I feel about this hospital. I had my cat Buster there in April of 2004. He was diagnosed by Dr. Akbawy with having two lumps in the lower intestine. I was advised that Buster needed an operation in order to remove the lumps. I had no doubt in my mind that Buster would successfully make it through the surgery. Here is it December of 2006 and Buster is now 16 years old and he acts like a young cat all over again. Dr. Akbawy saved my cat's life and I will forever be greatful to him. I recommend him to everyone. I mean seriously, who would not want the best service for their cat. Buster is part of my family and he is also part of the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital family. If the cat hospital is reading this...thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I know Buster appreciates the great service that you guys have given to him. Thank you again. Pros: Was less expensive then most hospitals. more
