There seems to be a trend these days of micro-coffee roasteries - Stumptown in Portland and Lighthouse in Seattle being two great examples. I don't think it's a new trend, but it's definitely a good one. Lighthouse Roasters isn't cozy or comfy, and I don't think I'd go there to hang out, but if you're looking for fantastic, locally roasted, extremely high quality coffee, this is the place to go. Lighthouse serves espresso drinks, some baked goods, and a good variety of house roasted whole and ground bean - it's also served at both Essential Baking Company and Persimmon. Also a great gift for out of town guests excited to visit the coffee capital of the country...
