I guess that music is in my blood because whenever I even write reviews, songs pop into my head. For this place, the tune would be The Eagles' classic, Peaceful Easy Feeling. Oh, yeah, that's what I go here to find. I love hanging out in Evanston's lakeshore and parks, even when it's not summertime. The beach, the walking trails, the scenery, it's all good. Yup, I've spent many a time pondering deep thoughts in the Evanston parks because for some reason, I even think better. What are some of my more recent "deep thinking" thoughts? Well, how about...why did Chris get kicked off American Idol???!! Yes, life's toughest questions can be answered at the Evanston Park District! more

Some of the most beautiful parks 5/13/2006

I often visit Evanston, and whenever I do, I have to stop by their parks. They sure have some beautiful parks and lakefront properties to boast about. There are some great walking trails that go all the way from the lakefront to Dodge Ave. On my last visit I was checking out the lush greenery and lakefront property that can be found by Sheridan/Church St. near the boat launch area. more

A Beacon 4/29/2006

A landmark, a beacon and also a business. Yes business, in warm weather months they have tours of this historic lighthouse on weekends. The hours are limited for the tours and the cost is $5. They will take you up to the top of the lighthouse and also show you the grounds. Lakefront property graces the lighthouse and garden. After your tour head over to the beach or the Evanston Art Center which is just down the street. more
