Lighthouse Care Center of Conway... is a 130-bed facility committed to providing quality mental health treatment services for adolescents, adults and seniors. We emphasize family involvement in the treatment process and provide individuals with the opportunity to fully confront and master their problems.
We provide three levels of care and have six total programs. For adults 18 to 59 years of age, Lighthouse offers acute inpatient hospitalization for psychiatric and substance dependency issues. We also have a geriatric psychiatric unit for older adults (60+) who have a history of mental illness, are dealing with acute onset depression or who are experiencing agitation or aggression as the result of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. All of these services are short-term in nature typically requiring a hospital stay of less than two weeks.
For adolescents Lighthouse Care Center has two levels of care. Our residential treatment facility (PRTF) is a 30-bed unit for males and females 12 to 21 years of age. This unit is a medical model program that also utilizes cognitive therapy to aid in the restoration of the resident to a more healthy mental and behavioral state of existence.
A second adolescent program is our Group Care Intensive Services (GCIS), or group home unit. This unit is a 26-bed social model program for males 12 to 21 years of age that have severe behavioral and conduct issues. A separate program for those with sexually reactive behaviors can be incorporated into either of the adolescent programs and be a part of the treatment process while an adolescent is in our care.
It is the mission of Lighthouse Care Center of Conway to provide therapeutic mental health and drug & alcohol addiction recovery services to adolescents and adults who are exhibiting high-risk behaviors of a severe or persistent nature and/or are emotionally disturbed as evidenced by a DSM-IV diagnosis.
Lighthouse Care Center of Conway believes in finding the treatable individual and providing a safe, structured program that is driven by systematic components of realistic services including but not limited to special and experiential education services, individual and group therapies, behavior management strategies, psychopharmacologic interventions, life skills/independent living development and self-esteem building exercises.
The program is further defined by highly individualized treatment plans developed, monitored and revised by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals committed to the dignity and care of each individual and their families.

. Programs & Services
Lighthouse Care Center provides comprehensive,individualized treatment programs for individuals suffering from mental illness,an emotional crisis and/or addiction issues. Our programs provide a highly structured schedule throughout the day. Patients attend therapy and educational groups several times a day,participate in recreational therapy and leisure activity groups,see the physician for medication checks and are allowed time for reflection and keeping a journal. Each morning patients set a daily goal and in the evening report on the achievement of that goal.
With the assistance of the treatment team,each patient develops individual goals focusing on specific issues,which are monitored,reviewed and changed in response to a patient's progress. The overall goal of the programs is to respond to the individual needs of each patient while bringing about stabilization and reduction of the symptoms that result from having a psychiatric illness or a substance abuse problem,all in a safe and structured environment. Secondary goals are to provide education and guidance in learning basic coping skills and preparing the resident for a successful transition to a lower level of care that maintains a high level of support and allows for increased independence.
