I was visiting Miami for the weekend and went Key Biscayne for the day to enjoy the beach and experience some local cuisine. The place was busy and we had to wait which is fine given it was a long weekend however it took over an hour and a quater to get food. What we ordered was straightforward: fries, burgers and the special. The service was terrible. The waiter kept ignoring us did not even apologize for the wait. They did not even offer to give us a plate of fries or something for the wait. We were starving. When we talked to the manager to complain and inquire about how long it would take to get food she brushed us off did not seem to care. When the food eventually came the it was not was what we asked for but did not dare to return it with fear it would take too long. We did not have an enjoyable experience and would not return. more

Growing up on Key Biscayne, the Lighthouse Cafe (and its sister-restaurant, Boater's Grill) were always a perfect stop for a good meal and one of my favorite places to take guests from out of town - great food, local feel, and wonderful atmosphere... the natural, beautiful setting made Lighthouse Cafe my first choice as my wedding venue and it truly was the most amazing and perfect night we could have asked for. The restaurant was all dressed up, exactly how I wanted: casual elegance! And all of our guests told us the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding - fresh and flavorful! Thank you to Reina and all of her staff for making this special night so beautiful and memorable! \r \r I HIGHLY recommend the fish croquettas, shrimp creole, and conch fritters... that said, I've never had anything that i didn't like! more

We recently went to the Lighthouse Cafe with our young kids. It is casual and clean. The conch fritters and fish fingers were excellent, the beer was cold and the key lime pie and flan dessert were delicious. I highly recommend it for a day at the beach. more

Place is clean and looks like a small diner. Ordered the Fisherman's Fratada and the special Crab spinach and asiago omelette. Food didn't take that long and when it arrived we were quite dissapointed. The Fratada was basically an unfolded omelette. It should be way more fluffy. It had a 'fishy' smell. Not the 'ocean' but old seafood. The crab was not real but on the menu it was spelled krab. That was expected. The shrimp was a joke. Tiny tiny salad shimp the size of an eraser on a pencil. The scallops were tough and tiny as well. The potaoes were deep-fried cubes that were soggy and like those you find at a buffet. The fresh strawberry preserves was just strawberry syrup. Runny and full of sugar. You can see the gainuels of sugar on the bottom of the container. The special omelette was a dissapointment as well. The crab on the specials board was spelled crab so I hope the crab was real. We could not tell since we could not find any in the omelette. It was actually quite small for the price too. The grits were a bit runny but passed as edible. The Lighthouse Cafe was the worst breakfast I've had in so long, I can't even remember a worse meal. IKEA breakfast is better. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. It was a rip off and cost us $25 plus tip. Total robbery. more

We stopped by Boaters Grill first but it was so crowded and VERY noisy. So we left and came here. This place is awesome with a great view and delicious food. more
