Great gym, great location. Pool is a big bonus. Kids area, classes, etc. Only issue I have is with some trainers. Fernando seems real nice. Other new trainers I have no knowledge of but Israel, from the Bronx is downright unfriendly. Rude even. Won't talk to you, apparently, unless you're some older moneybags. Guess he's only in it for one thing - himself. Gets lot of business because he's bulked up but I wonder if he's juicing. Anyway, who needs an attitude like that in a trainer. So I'm reading this other poster and wanted to immediately refute her assessment. Greg is long gone. All the trainers are very professional at Lifestyles. \r \r Lemme tell you about the best gym in the city: \r I eagerly awaited it's opening back when it was the 2nd run cinema. Have not been disappointed and I've been all over, even the old Orange Ave Gym. Staff is very friendly and unlike some places like Golds, very few attitudes, i.e. the serious dudes. Lots of aerobic equip., machines and free weights. Only Lifestyles I know of with a pool - gangbusters for when I tweak a muscle\r \r Even at peak times the place is not busy w/continues to amaze me. Gotta be the location I guess. Extremely rare to have to wait for anything. Very reasonable rates. Canceling is NO problem (I did; rejoined after surgery.)\r \r Friendly, clean, sauna, pool, a plethora of classes, competitive prices, kids area, what's not to like. There's even a contest to win a $$ gizmo that connects to your tv (for refer the most friends).\r \r Hey I hate to give a way a secret but if you can't swing $80/mo. for RDV this gym has everything you need for less than half that. I joined with my mom, After my assessment, I simply said no to personal training but my mom had her personal assessment with Greg and he used fear, intimidation and health issue techiniques to pressure her into signing up for his personal training sessions. He quoted her $3200 for 4 months to be paid up front.... Not in monthly payments as you go, as EVERY other club in town does...This Greg is consumed by his own ego and I find it funny that he was actually offended when my mom told him that $3200.00 was not in her budget right now. He's an ass!! I do not have anything against Lifestyle Fitness. But from the review you can plainly see I do not have any respect or confidence in Greg. Pros: Very Clean club, great hours Cons: Greg the personal trainer..... more
