I grew up in an Italian Neighborhood, so I lived pizza-- and, since moving in 1978, I have made the ""Pizza Rounds"" in the Los Angeles area. I was devastated when Lugi's, Palermo's, on Yucca Street in Hollywood closed-- Sicilian and authentic. Still, Lido's pizza is the real deal, never a disappointment-- and, it's a lot closer to me than Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock-- and they have better hours, although Casa Bianca is still a cut above. Lido's cheese is high quality, and the pizza is perfectly baked, thin-crusted, and not over-salted like a lot of places. And their meat sauce is very, very good and non-acidic. Only complaint, ordered spaghetti and meat sauce with three meatballs, and was shocked to find a sticker price of $19.45 attached. I wouldn't complain normally, but no salad or soup, and it was not an unusually large portion. Hey, it's only pasta! I suggest the family value meals if ordering anything other than pizza. And for some odd reason, the staff let a kid play a video game at the dinner table, so I was bombarded with obscenities and simulated killing for an hour. Not a real smart move for a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Pros: Good Service. Good Food. Not too crowded.
Cons: Bar nearby so watch your parked car.
