This place had a very fun and exciting atmosphere. The colorful walls and tables was indicative of what an ice parlor should be. Very inviting, almost made me wish I were kid again. The ice cream and hot dogs were also very good. Extensive menu with a lot of flavors. The staff was genuinely nice and welcoming. Plenty of tables, great place to bring a family to hang out. Very convenient location in gorgeous Meadowmont Village, with that old towne square feel. Overall, a memorable experience. more

I didn't try the ice cream, but the hot dogs are the worst I've ever paid for. This is the only hot dog joint I have ever seen that uses cheap store-bought wieners and buns -- the kind you could just make at home. more

My wife and I eat here at least once a week. The food, service ,and atmosphere are great. You can definitely tell it's a family owned business. It's like havng a picnic every day. Ok, I was over in this area as my mother was inside at the Heart Center Clinic. The area is beautiful and the location of this store is ok, parking isn't the best, but as for the food, I only got the hotdogs and I must say, I love hotdogs, but not these! They were terrible! This man fixed mines and he was very well-mannered, but fixed my hotdog extremely slow as if he was at home and fixing it for himself. I got two, one for me and one possibly for my mother because she loves hotdogs too and I was glad to go there because I heard that they sale hotdogs, well I was extremely disappointed in not only the chilli, but the hotdog itself was terrible, might be beef brand, but it's not good and I threw mines away and my mother thought her's was terrible too. We were totally disappointed because of the price, which was high for hotdogs not to have a better taste then they did, but I must say that the flavors of icecream looked rather tastey, but again this place is pricey, so I opted out of getting icecream and only the hotdogs. For the price of the hotdogs and to get them all the way, you will make a wiser choice choosing ""The Dog House."" I've been to lickity split several times and the food and ice cream are excellent. My favorite ice cream is the banana pudding which I have not found elsewhere. My favorite hot dog is the Carolina dog with slaw, mustard, chile and cheese. The Bar B Q is great as is the chicken salad sandwich. If you like cookies, the chocolate chip is my favorite. The owner is Mike who is a great guy whose family has been in Chapel Hill forever. It's a neat ice cream parlor with great food. Each time I get to Chapel Hill, I head for Lickity. Try it!!! lickity split offers an excellent smooth creamy ice cream in all the flavors you love and then some.I also found there many unique shakes and hot dog meals very pleasing to the palate.In my opinion lickity split offers great food at great prices. more

With its extremely limited menu and bland ice cream this place is not worth your time. With all of the wonderful dairies in town I am so dissapointed that this is all Meadowmont could come up with. Take the time to drive somewhere else. Cons: Prices, Ice cream is bland, Limited menu more
