Best

Wow! This place was ssooooo good. I took my family even grandma loved it! I had the Bison burger, omg it was the best burger I have ever had and I am a burger lover!

Worst

The library ale house is always mentioned as a great place, and honestly I'm befuddled.

Awesome Organic Spinach Salad 9/15/2004

My friends and I love the Library Alehouse. We enjoy their amazing beer selection, tasty food, comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. On my last visit I tried a new organic spinach salad. They used Maggie's Farm organic baby spinach tossed with organic strawberries, toasted pecans and goat cheese with a poppyseed vinaigrette. This salad was amazingly good and healthy. Pros: beer selection, service, atmosphere more

Awsome 8/25/2004

This place is the best in town. I have been to a lot of places looking for the perfect turkey burger and I found it here at the Library Alehouse. Tuesdays is Burger night at the Alehouse. All burger prices are reduced. They have the best beer selection around and have reasonable prices, pretty faces and friendly people. I've stopped going anywhere else for a beer and a burger. Pros: Fair prices, Great atmosphere, Great beer selection more

Great selection 3/3/2004

Great selection of beer on tap, good service and a pretty good happy hour. I have only tried the happy hour food and it was tasty, especially for the price. Pros: Good beer, decent happy hour, friendly service Cons: , Can be very crowded more

Great beer 2/19/2004

IF you like boutique beers this is the place to go. Great atmosphere and the selection of beer was killer. I only had appetizers, but they were really good more

close, personal, friendly. Great Beer 2/8/2003

LibraryAle house is a great little spot that stays pretty busy, Great SALMON!!!! FISH AND CHIPS!!! They have about 30 beers on tap and many more behind the bar, which is a real rareity on this side of town. I love this place, and take all my freinds their! Pros: Very romantic setting, Great beer selection, fish and chips Cons: No hard-A just beer more

Best Beer Selection 12/11/2002

Excellent selection of draught and bottled beer. La Chouffe Belgian is the highlight of the Library Alehouse's extensive beer list. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The Golden Beet and Arugula Salad is amazing. more

Beer is one of the four food groups... 12/9/2002

You won't need your library card to check out one of the 29 brews on tap...bring it anyway, it'll make you look more innocent when you get arrested for drooling over the menu. Killer burgers (bacon & bleu is the best), marvy meatloaf and the most jive jambalaya this side of the Big Easy. A great crew to educate your pallete about which beer goes best with what -- from seared Ahi to Buffalo wings; and the only thing hotter than the wings are the babe-o-licious bartenders. It's got a neighborhood feel -- a Left Coast version of Cheers replete with regulars. It's a great place to curl up with a good pint! more

what you'd expect 12/2/2002

The name expresses the spirit of the place well. Great beer - I almost always pick one of their seasonal brews. Good food - nicer than your usual pub grub but just as comforting. Pros: easy going, great beer, good food more

Mmmm... Beer! 11/13/2002

Super selection of beers, including my favorite Belgian Leffe Blond on tap. Yum! Nice interior -- very bright and clean, yet comfy. Seems to often have a good crowd of people. I have gone there casual, and have also gone there more dressed up and always felt comfortable. In addition to the beers, they have a bunch of quite good food. Nice heated patio in the back! One of my favorites in Santa Monica. more

Warm ambiance, great beer! 10/8/2002

The Alehouse has a nice warm feel to it, and a fantastic beer selection. Order a taster selection of their best brews to get the most bang for your buck. The food seems to be something of an afterthought to the beer, it's not bad just lackluster. I had a pretty good ahi tuna salad, but my boyfriend's steak was a bit overcooked, and not very tasty. And the wasabi mashed potatoes were, oddly, fairly flavorless. But if you stick to beer and appetizers, you should be pretty happy. Meet someone for a drink here. more

Almost perfect 6/18/2002

The Library Alehouse has a combination of a friendly, pub-esque bar indoors, and a glowing, comfortable patio area for dining in the back. The food is above average (you've probably had better, you've certainly had worse). When you're up for a night that's more about fun with friends and less about partying, this is where you need to go. It's lively but not in your face, youthful but not trendy. Another great after work spot. One drawback -- you won't be making a night of it - the latest they stay open is 11 (10 some nights). more

Not your average bar 6/17/2002

Back in our single 'daze', we loved the ""male""house for the easy-going, jeans-and-t-shirt wearing, I'm-not-a wannabe-actor-type guys this place attracts. Must be plain and simple: Great food, good people and a wide selection of microbrews and ales on tap. Come alone and sit at the bar--Any one of the regulars (or Mike or Chris tending bar) will probably strike up conversation with you. If want came to make table talk, take a seat on the heated patio. Menu is fantastic, offering a range from healthy fare such as tuna sashimi salad and fresh fish tacos with mango salsa, to-get-your-grub-on jambalaya and hearty pasta. My pick is always calamari or the turkey burger with a pale ale to wash it down. Atomosphere and crowd is neither grubby nor snotty--falls right in the middle of the road for Main Street. Pros: Friendly staff, Great beer, Great food more

Hail the Alehouse 6/3/2002

The Library Alehouse has become my staple restaurants for those nights that I don't feel like thinking about where to eat. I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I've had: ribs, fish and chips, ahi sandwich, pasta...and greatly enjoy the unassuming atmosphere. It's warm and inviting. Looks like a restaurant you might find in Tahoe or Boulder. I don't drink beer, but they also have really good rootbeer on tap. Pros: great atmosphere, great food/selection, laidback crowd more
