Liberty Cones

Liberty Cones is a great place to stop for ice cream. They have twenty-four flavors to choose from so you are bound to find something you like. They do change flavors and take suggestions from customers. I like the small town atmosphere you get here. Located not far from the school and parks. Just head towards the water tower and you will be in the general area. more

For those of you that know me, I have lived in t his area for over 20 years and in that time I have racked up many "favorites" as well as a few which have closed their door. But none have been visited more (next to shopping of course) than the various ice cream stores in the area. This one in neighboring North Liberty is a honey! Easily located off themain drag in North liberty just a few miles north of Coralville, this place is defininately worth the drive! The ice cream is nice with that homemade taste we all remember from our childhoods. I love plain vanilla especially french vanilla but I have on the odd occasion indulged in other flavors such as raspberry or even a "twist" cones which are basically 2 flavors swirled together....it's super and is a #1 favorite with my youngest son. If you are in the area, I suggest you drive a bit north and check out this dairly delite! It is a nice place to get away from the craziness of life and treat yourself at the same time! more

Liberty Cones makes their own ice cream, and has about 24 flavors at a time. They also serve lunch and dinner (grill food and deli sandwiches). While the food is okay, their ice cream is wonderful! Each year they have a contest to gain new flavors, so the available flavors change frequently. more
