The Liberty Bell Center is excellently designed, mainly because it forces visitors to filter through an interpretation center explaining the history of what they are about to see. The cracked bell and all those wonderful photo opportunities are available in the rear of the building, but be aware that you have to go through security before being admitted to the center. Most people who visit here then move on to the Independence Hall tour, but be warned that you need free but timed tickets available at the visitors' center.
