I have been getting my shoes repaired here for the past couple of years. I attempted to take some shoes and was greeted by Mr. Boris son. He is unaware of the shoe repair prices...

This is the best shoe repair shop I have ever been to in my 44 years. I was so impressed by the father years ago that I have been a loyal customer since. I take my shoes in runover and the come back in mint condition for half the price of others that don't do nearly the level of work and extras Lexington Market Shoe Repair does. I have been even more impressed with the son with his ability to juggle work a great customer service, while meeting or exceeding his set deadlines for completing the work on your shoes. I've lived in P.G. County and now live in Montgomery County I still have not found the price or level of craftmenship I have grown accustomed to with Lexington Market Shoe Repair. more

Amazing jewel tucked away in Lexington Market. I'm bringing my shoes here season after season! This makes a second summer that I've brought in my contemporary thin soled thong sandals in to get another season out of them. Last time Mr. Boris' son even surprised me by matching my sole color with a tan/beige that he has available. These guys are amazing- professional , straight to the point yet warm and courteous. You get a lot of traffic and different types of people from all around in Lexington Market and this place is still there after all these years. I am 32 years old and I have found the key to keeping all of my shoes my favorite. They've resoled sandals and scrappy heels for me. Always done the next day , too. :) I just pick them up during my lunch break. Parking is always surprisingly available at a meter during the noon hours. I love this local establishment. Mr. Boris reminds me of Ghipetto and of course there's his son... :) more

Disappointment 6/2/2010

I have been getting my shoes repaired here for the past couple of years. I attempted to take some shoes and was greeted by Mr. Boris son. He is unaware of the shoe repair prices because he would ask the shoe repair man. He was very rude and declared that, at a minimum, a deposit has to be placed for them to do the work. I explained that Mr. Boris never requested that before and he said that Mr. Boris wasn't there and things had changed. I also asked if I didn't like the job, would I receive a discount or my money back and he said no. I further explained that it's unusual that he is requesting money before the service is completed. He proceeded to give me my money back and told me I could go somewhere else. Before I left I asked when Mr. Boris will return and he told me...""no time soon"" First and foremost, I hope Mr. Boris is ok but it's unfortunate that the apple fell that far from the tree. Mr Boris son's lack of customer service and business tactics will ruin what Mr. Boris has established. The prices aren't that inexpensive, therefore, I will find another shoe repair business in the area...I'll keep you posted. Pros: shoe repair Cons: customer service more

best shoe repair in baltimore 6/30/2009

I've followed Mr. Boris around town since he was in Perry Hall but this man has been in business for well over 40 years starting in Russia. He can fix shoes that I didn't know could be fixed and if you ask his opinion he'll give it to you straight. I wouldn't trust any one else with my shoes because he knows this field better than any one else. It looks like he's cut his business down to one store and it's in Lexington Market. I hope he's not planning on retiring soon. Pros: skill and service Cons: I'll be sad if he retires more

Unlike other places were the repairmen are as questionable as their work, you can tell this place is owner operated. Mr Boris has performed miracles on shoes that ive worn down to nothing. He is a true craftsman. more
