Levander Automotive was established in 1997 in Grand Island, Nebraska. We offered a 4 bay mechanical repair facility and one paint booth. As the customer basis grew, that location could no longer accommodate the repairs so, to better serve our customers, a new location was obtained and a 5,600 sq ft building was built at 3708 Westgate Rd. In September 2001, the mechanical service center was the first to move into the new facility and a few months later the collision repair center followed.
We added new equipment for mechanical and collision repairs. The new shop housed a new Hunter alignment machine, hoists, a frame measuring system, tire machines and paint booth. Along with new equipment, new technicians were hired to maintain the growing facility. It didn't take long before the shop was filled once again. In 2005, Brian & Annette had made the decision to expand once again. An additional 5,600 sq ft was added and the open house for the new addition was in Feb of 2006. With over 300 customers, friends and family attending the open house. With new insurance companies coming aboard to team up with Levander's the shop addition proved to a vital part the growing business.
In 2008, Brian and Annette purchased land at 3620 W. Old Potash Hwy, deciding to split the service dept from the body shop. Brian worked hard removing a tree line and a office building that was on the land when we purchased it. The service dept does all kinds of auto repairs, transmissions, alignments, brakes, tires, maintenance items, just to name a few. In 2011, Levanders added an addition to this facility adding an additional 4 working bays.
The summer of 2009 Levanders decided to expand their business in a different town and purchased a building in Hastings Nebraska. The offices were remodeled, a storage facility was built, a brand new down draft paint booth purchased, a tow truck and many other equipments purchased to make this facility into a body shop. We teamed up with insurance companies and once again the building had to be doubled in size in 2010 to help the work flow thru that facility.
In 2012 some new activity in the business once again! Land was purchased in Kearney Nebraska in the summer of 2012 and was officially opened in Dec of 2012. The location Levanders purchased is well known for Kearney's drive-in theater location which was blown down in the tornado's of 2008. The offices in Kearney has memorabilia of the drive-in theater with movie posters, movie reels and stories about the drive-in and the tornadoes that took the drive-in away from this city. Kearney is gaining customers everyday and working with insurance companies to repair your cars.
