I put Cadillac in quotes due to the fact that anyone buying a pre owned vehicle from here needs to know that this place does not live up to Cadillac dealership standards. At the end of June 2011, I came across what I thought was a fabulous deal on what looked to be a gently used Cadillac SRX. I emailed about it, they called me back. I DISTINCTLY asked the salesmen ""is there ANYTHING about this vehicle that will need attention in the near future?"" He said no, so i SPECIFICALLY asked what about the shocks, and suspension, does the vehicle ride as it should? He said that absolutely, everything about this car was to be as it should, and I had nothing to worry about. Ok, I figured... I'm about to buy a Cadillac from a Cadillac dealership, they will be on the up and up. So, seeing as I live out of state, I purchased the car. Sight unseen. (clearly a mistake)I sent the certified check up to the dealership, and arranged for transport. Well, the car arrives, and I take it to a local shop for the inspection. THE CAR FAILS INSPECTION! Why? Due to a leaking power steering pump, and 2 leaking front shocks. Something that I specifically asked about, a week earlier! I got in touch with my sales person, and he says ""we will take car of you on this."" So, for the time being, I was happy and figured it was just a minor hiccup in the process, and they would take care of it as they should. I take the car to the service center right around the corner from me, and they tear the car apart, in anticipation of the new parts arrival. The car sits at the service shop for about 10 days in anticipation of the parts. Mind you, I COULDN'T REGISTER THE CAR WITHOUT IT BEING INSPECTED!Eventually, the parts arrive, and my mechanic calls me informing me that they have sent aftermarket shocks which will set off a warning indicator on the car. I call LeRoy Motors, ask the service manager who claims that he ""does not know"" if these shocks will trigger the warning light. What? The service manager does not know, if these parts will set off an alert? Mind you, these new parts CLEARLY leave the plug for the electronic sensors unplugged. So, they put the shocks in, and ever since then, when I get in my car the first thing that happens is a warning light that comes on ""service vehicle soon"" followed by another one that comes on ""service suspension soon"". I call the dealership, they won't take the car back. So, after 2 days of driving around on the AFTERMARKET PARTS the check engine light comes on! I take the car to Cadillac, and they inform me that the car has a bent spark plug. The bent plug has in turn caused the engine to build up a bunch of gunk. I called LeRoy motors, and they paid the repair for the check engine light. 900 DOLLARS! Now, they took care of the check engine light, paid the repairs in full. Can't complain there. The issue is that I know have to pay out of my own pocket for these shocks which are 900 bucks a pair online. Either that, or continue to drive on these aftermarket, warning light indicator triggering, shocks. So, just because they are a Cadillac dealer, you should look elsewhere for your Cadillac needs. These guys are entirely unscrupulous, or incompetent. (as evidence by the service manager telling me that he wasn't sure if the aftermarket shocks would trigger the indicator) I WOULD NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE GUYS! STAY AWAY!!
UPDATE AS OF 9/15/2011
The check engine light of this vehicle has come on AGAIN. When I called Steve Lanning of leroy motors, he hung up on me, informing me that ""we've done all we're going to do for you"". I've put about 700 miles on this car in the two months I've owned it, which keeps it well under the NY Lemon law standard warranty. This place is the absolute worst car buying experience I've ever had. Total crooks!
