Worst

First of all, the cats in the waiting room further raised the anxiety of my anxiety ridden cat. There must be nothing worse than having to be stuffed into a crate, put into a car...

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/22/2013

I had a cat treated by Dr.Leopard for years. He had a defect in his kidney and requred special care the last years of his life. The vet I used before that not only was ready to put him down but was also the one that recomended the breeder even tho he knew she was breeding pursians with known kidney defects. Because of her care I belive he lived many years longer then he would of under any other vets care. I also took one of my cats to her clinic after an incedent with a car that ended very badly. The doctor and her staff were very good about giving my poor kitty a chance at life but sadley after a week he was only getting worse. They were very compasionate in a tragic situation and I will always be thankful they were there. Doctor Leopard can be very direct. I respect that quality in her. I don't need a vet that is going to more worried about making me their friend then being a doctor. Those that have been harsh toward Dr. Leopard in these comments are better off going to another vet. You are there problem now. I'm sure when they tell you something you don't want to hear you will be right back on here trashing them. Cat's only is the best cat vet in Norman! As someone that has done their research and visited most of the vets in Norman I can proudly say Dr. Leopard will always be my cats vet. more

I think these negative reviews are absurd. I don't take my cats to vet so that they (and I) can be snuggled and hugged and talked to in a baby voice. I take my cats to someone who is competent and who knows her trade and has great pride in her work. I am a medical student and back when I was considering vet school, I shadowed Dr. Leopard for a while and I was struck by how seriously she takes her work and how passionate she was about doing things correctly. For example, I remember watching her clean the teeth of a cat and tell me that even though she hates cleaning teeth and finds it boring and tedious but that she always does it thoroughly and properly, unlike many vets, because it's truly important to feline health. She spoke with great anger about a past vet she worked with who missed a serious injury in a cat and how she tried to rescucitate the cat. As a sidenote, that same summer I also shadowed several doctors in the area and they didn't seem nearly as competent or diligent. When my own cat died of kidney failure at an emergency vet clinic, my family was told by the vet there that Dr. Leopard had prescribed 10x the proper dose of meloxicam (he had an injured paw) and had destroyed his kidneys. We were furious when we stormed into her clinic and accused her of malpractice but she was professional and calm and showed us how the dosage was correct because she was using a new formulation of the drug that is 1/10 the standard concentration and was produced just for cats (the emergency vet was not a cat specialist and didn't know). I confirmed this on my own later with a third unrelated vet. A week later my family got a notice saying that Dr. Leopard had made a donation to the Cornell Center for Feline Health in the name of our cat. She hadn't made a mistake, we were already pacified, but she still took the time to do that. \r \r Sure she may be more Dr. House than Patch Adams, I could see why her demeanor might come off as brusque, but these people who wanted a teddy bear veterinarian didn't see how she conducts herself in the actual care of their cats and it was always with utmost professionalism. I've had super nice vets, like the vets at Roserock who botched my cat's surgery (which Dr. Leopard later had to correct). I stay at Cats Only because I know Dr. Leopard is truly passionate about cats and animals in general. And by the way, the cats that roam her clinic are not a ""gimmick,"" they are all unwanted cats that people dumped off on the doorstep of her clinic and that she took in.\r \r more

its true! the dr's are RUDE 8/27/2010

I called Cats Only because I was new in town and needed somewhere to take my vomiting cat. the receptionist at Cat's Only was the most pleasant person I spoke to and told me to hurry in right then. more

Many experiences 10/14/2009

Have gone to Dr. Leopard for several years. She Pros: Excellent feline care Cons: Some staff not so friendly in the past more

The Doctor is RUDE but staff is nice 8/18/2009

First of all, the cats in the waiting room further raised the anxiety of my anxiety ridden cat. There must be nothing worse than having to be stuffed into a crate, put into a car, driven to a vet, and then get to the vet and there are at LEAST 5 cats roaming around taunting my poor cat. Just awful for him! Pros: Hmm.... Cons: Dr. L lacks proper "social skills" more

It's all about the money here 6/14/2009

Had a horrible experience here! Dr. is abrasive (to put it nicely!). Quality of care and compassion for the animals was absent entirely at this visit. Had to call animal control to get her to release the cat to another vets care after staff claimed it bit unprovoked and she insisted on quarantine for 10 days. Pros: none Cons: Noisy (screaming) birds in cages all around the place more

They care ONLY about the money! 6/9/2009

"Dr." Leopard cares only about the money and she makes it evident in the level of care she gives your cat as well as how she treats their human owners. She will talk down to you and insult you to bully you into doing what she says, which will cost an arm and a leg. I will NEVER take any of my precious animals to her again. Just my opinion, but believe me, I have been to MANY vets and have NEVER been spoken to the way I was with her. Do yourself a favor, if she is pleasant to you, realize you are paying her WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!!!! Pros: Have cats free roaming in clinic Cons: Use bully tactics to make you spend more money there more
