I called Leone Plumbing on a Sunday night, when the drain pipe that runs from the house to the street was clogged. I live in an older part of town--the house is close to 100 years old--and here the storm drain is also the sewage drain. They were very courteous and polite over the phone, and that's not something you run across too often these days.
The serviceman who came soon afterwards was very respectful and professional, despite the cold and blowing snow. He went out of his way to help us with our drains on a Sunday night. He took a look at the situation, and told me up front what was wrong and approximately what it would cost me for him to fix it.
He got right to work, and it was a dirty, filthy job. He was down in the cellar, bent over at the waist, feeding that snake through over and over. He was here for over three hours. All he had to do was snake it once, but he did it three times. The last time, he changed bits and was pulling out larger chunks and roots. He did a fantastic job, and we haven't had another back up ever since, even when it rains heavily.
Once he was done, I took his card and taped it to the pipe, so I would know who to call if I ever had another issue. Then, I tried to offer him a tip, but he wouldn't take it, saying that he quoted me a price for the job, and that that was all he would take. The next day I followed up with his boss to let him know how pleased I was, and he told me the same thing. It's nice to know that there are still some places that do business this way, like they used to do long ago.
