DO NOT EAT HERE! 10/30/2009

MADE A RESERVATION FOR A LARGE GROUP 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE. CALLED TO CONFIRM 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE. ON THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT, CALLED TO ADD 2 TO THE RESERVATION. THE "MANAGER" HAD THE MANNERS AND THE PROFESSIONALISM OF A 9 YEAR OLD AND WOULD DO NOTHING TO ACCOMMODATE US. VERY, VERY BAD BUSINESS! I'M NOW MAKING IT MY MISSION TO MAKE SURE ALL IN RICHMOND KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE! more

Back in the game 5/1/2008

Been to Legend Pub many times over the years, and have had mixed experiences, from great to just alright. Recently however I had a great experience. Beer was great, food was great, service was excellent. The recent change in management has had a tremendous impact for the better. A must go to bar. Pros: The view from the deck and the beer are excellent Cons: A few decor changes inside wouldn't hurt more

Great Beer! 9/19/2007

Great beer, and if you go, go for that. The food was fine. They could work on the decor a bit. Nevertheless, after work, this is THE PLACE TO GO. Pros: Great brews more

The food has been going downhill for years 2/22/2006

When this restaurant first opened, the food was great. I don't what's happening in the kitchen lately, but the food has not been good more recently. From cold entrees to mold on my food to over and under cooked food. The beer is great but the food is not worth it. Pros: beer, patio Cons: bad food, mediocre service more

Great place to meet 1/3/2006

I met a friend there for an afternoon of great beer, good music and a little dart playing. It was too cold to be seated on the patio, but it looks like it would be a great place in the summertime. Everyone we talked to was extremely friendly and the food and beer were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place! Pros: good beer, friendly staff Cons: difficult to find more

Fun place to go 12/11/2005

Beer here is ok considereing Richmond, VA lacks in the beer brewing business. The food was what you would expect for a beer pub. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer-very good. The crowd is variable. The bar gives the sense that there have been many good memories made there as they have individual beer mugs placed around the bar. On different nights they have music. Miss Sunday night (blue grass night). Nothing against bluegrass music but apparently fans don't shower. Place had an overwhelming staunch of body odor there that night. Pros: beer, crowd, seating Cons: Sunday night more

good one 11/30/2002

good one ... good beer ... good beer .... goood view ... good time more

Best deck with outdoor classic movies 8/4/2002

The spacious deck always seems to attract a breeze, even in the dog-days of summer! The beer is tasty and you always seems to see someone you know. You go to Legend's for the deck & the local brew, not the food (which is passable, but certainly not notable). Also they've stumbled on a fun diversion - showing classic movies outdoors (or inside in colder times) for the fun of it. Great hook & it works. Pros: Deck, local brew Cons: Parking, Food more

Editorial
  • The Scene
The main attraction here is outside--head directly for the deck and order a brew. If you're hungry, the menu features better than average pub grub with sandwiches, salads and entrees in the $6-$10 range. Plus, views and microbrews are legendary on this downtown deck. Don't bother with the inside unless you head for the restroom.

    The Beer
Supplying many restaurants and bars in Richmond with its distinctive suds, Legend has gained a regional reputation as microbrew that delivers. You can choose from the Lager--German style, Pilsner--golden oldie, Brown Ale--amber sweetness, Porter--very dark, and Golden Ale--like an India pale ale. A pint of any variety hovers around the three-dollar mark give or take a little pocket change.
