My son's basketball experience at Legarza was OK, but Mr. Legarza's ethics are very poor and dishonest. That's a strong charge, but I have downloaded pages from his website as documentation--for the winter league of 2006 he promised 90 minute sessions, but then when he had collected everybody's money, he cut the sessions back to 75 minutes. This, I suppose, allowed him to fit another full set of teams into each day while paying his counselors the same. However, every single kid was cheated out of 1/6 of what he had been promised. Multiply that by the number of kids he cheated and you get a lot of money for him! He also changed the schedule around to suit his own personal convenience, again after he had collected everybody's money. If you send your kid to this guy's camp, you will receive a lot of photocopied material exhorting you and your kid to be good sports and maintain high moral standards. I just wish he would follow his own prescriptions, but instead he is just a crook out to make as much off of our kids as he can. By the way, when I complained, he never answered. There are plenty of good programs around that don't cheat you--pick one of them.
