best known secret in our area is legacy for any kind of hvac work, masonry, or fireplace mantle and tilework. that's what i used them for. i live in avondale, pa. when i was trying to find companies, someone told me about them and said they're the up and coming business in my area. then i found out they are active in helping out at some local nonprofits and i read all about them online. they gave me a list of clients to call about them to see how happy they were too. i called two of them and after they told me they virtually loved legacy, i felt confident that they were the company for me. the fireplace they did in my house is incredible. its the focal piece of my downstairs and i can't tell you the compliments i always get. looks like a work of art. more

i am a single woman and wanted a company who would be straight with me. my friend who is another single woman in my neighborhood said she spent about ten hours researching to find the best contractor in her area. she had about seven interviews and she told me legacy design and construction was far superior to everyone else she interviewed - from their proposal to their pricing to computer print outs and so on. not only that they researched what products had the best reviews online for her, which ones had the most satisfied customers, and what would be best to install from a resale standpoint. so, i went with them to remodel my kitchen. i must say i have only the best things to say about them. you deal with one person who is an architect with an amazing amount of knowledge. he is great with trouble shooting and problem solving too. also, if he can get deals on things for your kitchen he passes those discounts on to you as a customer. i really liked that. not too many companies these days are left who conduct business in more of an old fashioned style where the customer is always right and they really care about customer satisfaction. legacy does that and i found it rather refreshing. another thing i liked is that my friend who referred me to them said she got a thankyou note in the mail for giving me their referral information. it was hand written and just thanked her. i thought that was pretty impressive. ill use them for everything on my house in the future. i feel like i've finally found that ideal contractor with the knowledge intelligence education and people skills and thats enough to make my day. more

a year or so ago, i hired legacy to put a mud and laundry room onto the back of my house. i have to tell you it was a very positive experience. first of all, i couldn't believe how quiet they were about their work, secondly, they brought me coffee one morning which was a rather nice thing to do, and that room is the highlight of my house. everyone asks me about it and who did it because the planning is just something you don't see anymore in these newer developer houses. i got a card in the mail from legacy asking me if i'd consider writing a review on them so i thought this would be a good way to get the word out to others who live in delaware or pennsylvania. it is unique to find a contractor out there who you really feel strongly about in terms of the quality of their work, the appeal of their design abilities, and their customer service. legacy, if you ask me, takes home the trophy in all of those departments. i think they've been in business for a good six to eight years and people like myself have a great appreciation for a company that you just know goes that extra mile for you. i think they are onto something with how they treat people, the time they put into working with you and making sure you are satisfied, and even their whole approach to doing business. i've been around a long time in this area and i have a long history working with contractors, builders, and people in the home renovation industry. i haven't had a company impress me like legacy did for about twenty or thirty years and that says a loot. it says a lot too that i even got on this computer to even write about them because i am not of this new generation of folks to do everything based on modern technology and cell phones and what have you. id sAy that if you want the job done right, if you don't want a headache, and if you are looking for the best in the business, i would contact legacy. take it from aguy with a lot of expertise in this area. every penny you spend will be well spent and surely well earned. more

I spent the better part of a week trying to find a contractor that was licensed, insured, would return my calls, and quite frankly, who I felt was straight forward. I wanted to add a free-standing garage onto our property. Luckily, I found Legacy Design and Construction over in Landenberg. Not only did they call me back right away, they came out to my house, and within days, they gave me a detailed estimate of how much the job would cost. When I say detailed, I mean detailed. I had other contractors "give me estimates" and nothing even compared to the professionalism that I got with Legacy. I hired them to build my double garage and I have to say, I would call myself beyond satisfied. To be honest, I look at the quality of work they did on my garage, and I wish my home had been built like that. I think it is because Legacy uses professional architects to create what they are building, and then to do the work. To top that off, their estimate, was the second to lowest quote I got but there was no question that Legacy just blows the other contractors out there out of the water. They are direct and honest. They keep in touch with you throughout your whole building project and the nicest thing is that they kind of treat you like family. You know that you are not just a number or some random person to them. They are a family owned business and you can really feel that when you are working with them. Interestingly enough, the head architect over there wound up saving me a ton of money on the systems used to power the garage too. He's up to date on all of the most modern technology so he even came up with a go-green kind of energy solution for that entire area that cost me less money up front to install, and then it also keeps my bills lower in the long run. They are just great and my guess is that they're going to impress just about anyone who they work for. The guys are humble, down to earth, friendly, and smarter than a whip. I have all good things to report about Legacy and I'd tell anyone to use them in a heartbeat more

Good: Legacy Design and Construction LLC. uses an actual architect to do all of the design work, construction, consultations, and building. They return calls, show up on time, are family owned, and just about as respectful and professional as a business can get. Their prices are more than fair, they communicate with you the entire time you are working with them, and they make doing business with them an absolute pleasure.. Bad: I had no complaints at all using Legacy and they did a huge project at my home that took several months. I was satisfied throughout the entire process.. Improvements: Legacy's friendly and educated staff makes doing business with them such a pleasure. They make sure every little detail is done correctly, they arrive on time, they all speak english, and you just know that you are dealing with intelligent guys.. Other: After using Legacy to build an addition onto my home, I can honestly say that I would only use them for any kind of building, repairs, or renovations on my property. I spent years looking for a good general contractor who could replace windows, do roofing, create closet space, do deck work, etc. Now that I have found out that Legacy does all of this, I feel like this huge burden is being lifted off of my shoulders.
