Located centrally on McHenry Avenue, between downtown and auto-row, this no-frills, non-descript restaurant does not draw attention to itself and can almost be missed if you're not aware of it. However, once you've been there and tasted their fine array of tasty selections, you wonder why it took you so long to visit them.
Since moving to Modesto in 1987, I have searched high and low for a Chinese restaurant that makes Egg Foo Yung the way it's meant to be cooked - with all the ingredients INSIDE the patty, and smothered with the thick, delicious, savory brown gravy on top of it. My preference is to have the 2-inch thick patties on top of the steamed rice, though it tastes just as scrumptious with the rice on the side. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, I grew accustomed to the tastes of good Chinese cooking, and I finally found it here in Modesto, 20 years ago. Add in an iced tea, and for less than $10 you've got a meal that fills you up!
Try it!
Pros: Fantastic, Tasty Chinese Food
