The Scene
Hidden in a lonely Alpharetta shopping center, Lee Garden looks like any other nondescript Chinese restaurant. White tablecloths dress up the place, but the bright dining room is more utilitarian than beautiful. Expect to dine with anyone from Chinese teenagers to Alpharetta families.
The Food
Thankfully, Lee Garden's fresh, non-greasy dishes add color to the decor. Vegetables retain their crunch, sauces are light, and fish is delicate--seafood is, in fact, the main attraction. Splurge on whole lobster and pan-fried snapper, or try the less expensive sizzling salmon fillet. Among the many beef and poultry dishes, aromatic ginger duck, infused with fresh--not dried--ginger stands out. For an appetizer, dig in to a heaping plate of spare ribs. Drenched in a sweet, tangy red sauce, they have all the makings of a new late-night craving.
