Lebanese Taverna

This review is dated, so hopefully things have changed. But the service we experienced was so slow it was hard not to believe we were on candid camera. We arrived around 6pm with a party of about 15. The restaurant was basically empty and this was a Saturday night. The food arrived a full hour after we had ordered it and the waiter forgot who ordered what. When we left, the host was unwilling to discount the bill. I'll probably give this restaurant another shot since the 3 year cooling off period has now expired. We'll see if service has improved. I will say the bar and general appearance of the place is excellent. more

When you walk in, the decor is so impressive you expect a lot. the service is shaky, the waiters are absent a lot, disappearing into the kitchen, you have to wave them over from another table for service. they are nice but don't know the menu themselves or how to describe dishes. also, waitress got our order wrong, but it took so long to get the food that we didn't correct her since we had a show. the food is average at best. the humus and fresh pita is really a great start, but it declines unfortunately from there. we got the chicken/yogurt pita which was decent but not a lot of flavor...and the lamb with vegetables which was so bland it was almost inedible...again would've sent it back if we'd had time to wait for another entree to come. desserts were average...got chocolate lava and cheese crepe. the cardamon coffee/tea that we ordered had the dry ground spice floating it it, not filtered coffee made with whole pods and it didn't taste as it was built up on the menu...which was the case with a lot. I expected more spices, more flavor and flair for the prices and it fell flat. won't go back and tell my friends too. Cons: flat flavored food, uninformed, absent service staff more

I've gone there twice for a late lunch on weekends. Considering it was past the lunch rush , seating was prompt and we could choose where we sat. Service was wonderful. The staff was very polite, made recommendations and didn't hover but were always within sight in case we needed anything. The food is pricey, but its definitely worth it. We liked everything we tried.\r Very nice interior , though some of the tables are set very close together.
