Learning Tree Daycare

My family and I have had a better transition to this area(moved to Memphis from North Carolina in February of this year) because of the Learning Tree. Relocating can be a huge task within itself without the support of family, or friends close by. more

Wow! If I listened to what the last reviewers say I would pull my son out! My son have been there since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 4. True enough they do have some unprofessional teachers but that is everywhere. He attends the cordova location and is very smart. Of course I take credit for a lot of his knowledge but he can tell me what he learns on a daily basis. Now, the arlington locatation did put a bad taste in my mouth when I was observing the locations, they were not very friendly but that was 4 yrs ago. We love Mr, nick and any concern I have ever had was addressed immediately. I have recommended them to many people that have been pleased as well. Check it out yourself before you make your choice more

We thought the world of this daycare when we first began attending here. Some of the teachers were very friendly and truly do care about children. However, there are quite a few that are unprofessional and do not care about kids in any way. They talk on their cell phones all day, allow the kids to watch movies and TV all day, and there were even times that I had to pick my child up in the middle of the day and the teachers were sleep as well as the director!! Please do not take your child to any of the Learninng Trees in the area. I used to think this was the best place in the world... until I found out that the teacher was getting physical with the kids. A grown woman picking on 3 year old children! I am not going to get into the details though. I just understand that it is my job to ensure that my child is in a safe and rewarding environment. They cannot provide this. more

We are very disappointed in Learning Tree. Our daughter began attending the Arlington location in December 2006, and there were problems from day 1. From having the care-providers yelling at the kids and telling them to shut up to a total lack of any kind of educational program, it has been a constant disappointment. The only reason we didn't switch her to a different location earlier was that we didn't want to put her in another new situation right before going to Kindergarten. The breaking point came when my husband tried to talk with Bob (the owner/manager) about an issue of the care provider telling our daughter that she couldn't dress a certain way, but not telling us. (She was told that she couldn't wear dresses or skirts because sometimes when she sat down her underwear showed. We also had the impression that she had been told in such a way as to make her feel ashamed.) Bob first said "I don't know what do you want me to do about it" Then when my husband said that he wanted him to talk to the care provider and that we didn't want anyone making our daughter feel bad about herself, his response was that we should maybe just take her out of the location right now if we were so concerned. His hostile reaction to our legitimate concerns was shocking, and certainly goes a long way toward explaining all the problems at the daycare. There are several other daycares and preschools in Arlington - I strongly urge any parent to place their children in one of them.
