Great food but pricey 11/12/2008

Many menu items are reasonably priced, so you can get something and not spend a lot, but watch out, because it can and will add up FAST. I easily dropped $30 for one person for lunch one day, which included a bowl of soup, an entree sandwich, a smoothie and dessert. The lentil soup is great. I haven't cared for the managers I've seen--the asian girl there now seems so not driven towards customer service--like they're just not that focused on or driven towards service (besides the counter staff though, who are great). I've been there a few times and was really curious how the lentil soup was made so I asked the cashier about it, if the lentils were sprouted, then pureed? She didn't know so she turned to ask the Asian manager who was sitting right there at the counter (doing paper work, which is kind of a no-no I thought and looked bad) who simply said "yes" then went back to what she was doing. So much enthusiasm! I'm glad I didn't disturb her too much lol. I would think that to people involved in hospitality would be a bit more enthusiastic about their product, especially at a novelty restaurant such as this. They definitely have something to be desired in that area. She should take pointers from the counter staff. Pros: Greta raw food you can't get anywhere else Cons: The cost more

A friend who wanted to try raw food suggested we meet there for lunch. I agreed but wasn't looking forward to some bland boring meal. Boy, was I surprised! We shared the Rawsagna, a Bombay wrap and the brownie. We LOVED everything! It's so rare to enjoy a completely guilt free meal and walk away satisfied. I will definitely go back to try more menu items. Although it may be hard to go and not order the Rawsagna! Pros: Tasty, healthy food at a reasonable price; validated underground parking Cons: None reallly, but just don't go here looking for ambiance. You order at the counter. more

Leaf is bomb. The way you feel after you eat there is the opposite of how you'd feel if you ate at Tommy's. The wraps are huge, but be warned, they're messy and you'll need about 5 napkins. The bombay burrito, fortuna fantasy, and flying falafel are all good. try the combo wrap and try all 3. more

When we eat at Leaf in Culver City, my wife and I actually get an energy feeling. Eating foods that are actually alive and organic is the #1 best thing you can eat. After the first visit in Feb 2006, we returned 2-3 times a day for two months. The results were dramatic. I lost 60 pounds and felt like I was 20 years younger. I own a pizza place in Venice and have become believer in Raw Food ever since trying Leaf. I am totally convinced that every dish at Leaf is worth trying. Right now we are into the Kale Salad and the Pad Thai Noodle, then we mix them together to come out with a really fabulous combo.... I could live on this forever!!! Pros: customizing your order is Never a problem, Trustworthy ingre Cons: NO CONS.....For the health benefits here, there are no cons more

i love leaf cuisine. their wraps are amazing (i love the garden, veggie sunburger, and the mediterranean medley), the smoothies pretty good, and the desserts are delicious (the carrot cake is great but the strawberry mousse is to die for) but my all time favourite is the spirulina flax oat etc. cookies they have for sale next to the register. i don't know why i like them so much, but i'm absolutely addicted to them. yum! Pros: delicious, good prices, raw options everyone would like (raw foodist or not) Cons: closes too early more

Delightful experience! 8/21/2006

After printing out their handy menu online, and picking up this past Sat. evening, I am extremely impressed with the quality and flavor of Leaf Cuisine... The guacamole was quite a treat, along with the flax seed crackers for starters, and the salads I ordered were "flying falafel" and "mediterranean medley". I am a vegetarian now for 10 years, but not raw, although I like trying raw food every once and a while. The reason I decided to write this review is because I have not tasted better salad greens anywhere in Los Angeles! Every vegetable and leaf in my salads were super crisp, full of flavor, (they reminded me of specialty garden grown greens I experienced on the Big Island HI. The falafel croquettes and the sun-dried tomato croquettes were really amazing, and the house dressing (sort of miso) made it all come together. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates subtle flavors, and the freshest ingredients around. What is more amazing, is that the portions are so big, I have continued to eat on Sun, Mon, and tonight Tues. with each and every ingredient looking and tasting as fresh as the day I picked up my order. Isn't that something! Go and treat yourself to a meal at Leaf Cuisine, you will love it, and it is soooooo good for your body and health. I will return to try the soups and desserts! more

Healthy Food & Great Service! 6/22/2006

Select from an array of healthy and filling dishes for under $10. Everything except for the desserts are reasonably priced, IMO. If you must try a raw dessert, I recommend either the carrot cake or the apple pie. It actually tastes like what it is, unlike the brownie, which I do not recommend, especially if you are craving cocoa. I've been to both locations (LA & Sherman Oaks), I must say the service in Sherman Oaks is by far much much better! I think the food there tastes better too. =) Pros: Healthy food and Great service. Cons: None, except if you live far from it. more

reasonably priced raw vegan fast food 3/26/2006

Ever feel like you need to eat something REALLY healthy, maybe you've been slacking getting your veggies, or its the end of a long day and you've eaten the same Trader Joe's salad sixteen thousand nights in a row? Leaf is the answer if you live anywhere near it. They are open till 9pm and as quickly as they can wrap those green leaves around your raw concoction, you are out the door with a HUGE portion for $7.95. If the leafy wrap is too much green for you, they have tortillas or you can order it as a salad, of course that's more greens too but smaller ones. Its a walk up and order, sit down and they bring the food to you if you eat in kind of place, with REALLY bright lighting, but this is a fast food place, just really amazingly healthy fast food! Pros: healthy, vegan, inexpensive Cons: harsh lighting more
