First, a disclaimer: This review does not reflect the dining service, only the club. That said, the word pretentious is a perfect description of Layl'a. From the front door security, to the waitstaff, to the clientel. The place is designed to be an ""ultra lounge"", but they should have stopped at ""lounge"". It's overdesigned and just tries too hard with the subdued lighting, flat panel displays, and mod furniture. Looking beyond the decor, the drinks are too expensive. A $10 martini? Expensive, but acceptable. However, a $5 water? Give me a break. I've lived in big cities, I've worked in big cities, and I've played in big cities. While Layl'a attempts to ooze chic all it does is ooze. Personally, I will not return. It seems appropriate for the rich and famous, or want-to-be rich and famous, but the ambiance is just simply atrocious.
Pros: Friendly Barstaff
Cons: Pretentious, Ambience, Overpriced
