The Arts Education program mission is to provide high quality fine art education that is accessible to the general public. Classes are offered during the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Instructors are experienced practicing area artists with professional resumes. The LAC creates an environment where students can expand the imagination and test their creativity.
The Lawrence Arts Center provides the community with 13 - 16 exhibitions each year in its two galleries. Approximately half of these are annual exhibitions developed by Lawrence groups such as the Lawrence Art Guild, the Lawrence Photo Alliance and Lawrence Public Schools. Other exhibitions feature work by professional artists in all media. Individual artists are encouraged to apply for exhibition time in the galleries (See Exhibitor's Guidelines). Application deadlines are May 1 and November 1. The time between acceptance and exhibition averages between 18 and 24 months.
