Hello, Pros: Dr. hirshberger is nice! Cons: Dr. Collins and Trish are money-hungry employees!

Wonderful vets 6/7/2012

We've been taking our dogs to Lawrence Animal Hospital for years, for everything from normal preventative care, to neutering, to Lyme's Disease, to less common ailments, and sadly even for cancer. The care is top notch medically and they've gone above and beyond many times for us: squeezing in appts, researching/ordering a special boot for a problem with my dog's paw, sourcing less costly ways to fill scrips, etc. They've also made excellent referrals for specialists, and then kept on top of their cases to help us navigate confusing situations.\r \r Moreover, the doctors, techs and staff have always been very compassionate with us and loving towards our dogs. They've been an 'anchor' during some very difficult times when our dogs were quite ill. I'd highly recommend them to anyone. more

Best Vet Practice 5/16/2011

My 1 yr. old cat was diagnosed with rhinotracheaitis by another vet he was seeing. The diagnosis was incorrect and for about 4 yrs. I spent a ridiculous amount of money on medicine that he didn't need. The physical discomfort and emotional angst he and I suffered was unreal. When my girlfriend and I moved to NJ in 2009, his condition worsened. He vomited constantly and fell to 5.5 lbs. Dr. Collins ran some tests that came out normal and thus diagnosed him with a polyp. The polyp was so large, it took up most of his throat which was why he vomited. It blocked his gag reflex. Dr. Collins gave me a choice as to which surgery would be best for her to perform. Financially speaking, the more minor of surgeries had to be completed and would still remove the polyp possibly temporarily but maybe permanently. With luck on our side, he hasn't had a relapse in close to 2 yrs. with no sign of the polyp returning. If it weren't for Dr. Collins and her wonderful staff, he wouldn't be alive today. I should've filed a complaint with the other vet, for they shouldn't even be in business today. He is up to 11+ lbs., happy and playful. Even when I bring him in for his annual visits, they hug him, love him and take care of him as if he were one of their own. I would refer them to anyone and everyone. They are an amazing vet. I can't thank them enough. I appreciate them beyond any words I can express. more

My Dog's Life Savor 11/9/2010

Recently our family pet got really sick. It started on Tues Nov 2nd,2010 he lost his appetite. Then the next night he had bloody diarrhea and vomiting. We called around to get him to a vet asap. The vet we were going to take him to was closed until Mon Nov 8, and the other didn't have an appointment until 2:00 thurs afternoon. We called Lawrence Animal Hospital and we were able to get in first thing the next morning. When we got there everyone was very pleasant and a great staff. Right away the Dr knew what he might have new virus, parvo. This was really the first time I heard about. My dog is only 10 months(he's still a puppy). Dr.Gruber suggested that we get him tested, blood work, xrays etc. and medication. But we couldn't afford it. So she made another suggestion . They believed it was parvo he had all of the symptoms, being that we were new customers we didn't have to pay for the office visit just the fecal test and his medication. That was great. They gave him some injections and sent us home with his medication. If the injection(antibiotics) didn't work he should be hospitalized(which I knew we couldn't afford)On wed With no appetite he wouldn't take his meds and he was still the same. We called the vet and told them that he was still the same. Trish told us to come in the was a stronger dose of medication that they had just recieved and it was to be given to him in a series of 2 shots a day for three days. These shot were given free of charge. Still no change by Fri. My husband and I didn't know what else to do. My husband made an appointment for our dog to be put down because he didn't want him to suffer. We wanted to spend the weekend with us. On Sunday afternoon the dog started running around, barking, and eating his food. He still vomited a little, and still some diarrhea but not bloody. Dr. Gruber called my husband monday morning to check on our dog and he told her the good news. She told us to come into the office again and to give him another series of shots free of charge so he won't relapse again. Now he is taking his medicine and he is not vomitting. He's playing with the kids again he's my happy baby again. And all thanks to Lawrence Animal Hospital..I love those ladies. They did not give up and My family and I really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts and so does our Dog. To Dr Gruber, Dr Collins and Staff you are wonderful you do a great job. People are going to say negative things to make them feel better about themselves , Just keep on smiling as you do and Keep up the good work. Dr Gruber Thanks again for all your attention and positive intentions. Trish you are awesome!!!!!! and Thanks to the staff your great!!!!! We really didn't have a vet for our pet but know Lawrence Animal Hospital is. I would definitely recommened anyone that has a pet and would like a vet hospital that is caring and loving like it their own pet they are taking care of, to go to Lawrence Animal Hospital. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!! more

Purrfecto! 8/13/2010

The Dr.'s and staff are friendly and really care about my pets. I received more personalized attention there than at some of the larger hopsitals I've been too. The location and hours are convenient for me, and I have always been able to get an appointment the same day when my cats are sick. more

Great Vet 8/6/2010

I love everything about this place. The management is wonderful and very caring. I have a bulldog and Trish, the hospital manager, was able to give me tips on how to train her since she explained to me that she has one herself and experienced the same problems. She was so willing to help me and give me any advice that she could, the same with the other doctors too.I love how they spent so much time with me. This is a great hospital, great service, and great people who care... more

Having Lawrence Animal Hospital as my Veterinarian has been such a great expierience. They have always made it so easy to get an appointment. I feel like the doctors and staff go out of there way to make me and my dog feel comfortable. They never act like I am bothering them, and everyone seems to really like being there. You can really tell they love what they do!!!! more

Lawrence Animal Hospital is Great! 8/4/2010

Lawrence animal is honestly the most reasonable hospital I have been to. I have been seen previously at Princeton Animal Hospital as well as Hopewell Veterinary Group and never have I been to such a place that actually cares about my dog rather than the money. I also felt special because I received a discount for I being a new client. Everyone was very friendly and the most I spent for the exam was a little over $100. \r \r Management was wonderful. They were very welcoming and the doctors seemed to know their stuff. Everything that they recommended for my puppy actually worked. I mean, I was very pleased I must say. \r \r Have a quick question for Cowpoop...For someone who hates this practice you sure come quite often to know the exact prices of everything which leads me to believe that your comment is a little suspect perhaps? And for you to know the exact mood changes of the manager as if you know her personally? Seems like bullshit to me. more

Extremely pleasant!! 7/31/2010

My pets are new to Lawrence Animal Hospital. We had a really nice expierience, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. i was really amazed as to how clean it was, i have been to other animal hospitals and sometimes they really smell, it was so clean and fresh here. I hope my pets will be able to go there for years to come. I finally found a place I like to take them to, and that they like to go! Thanks more
