Lavern's Wedding Chapel

My husband and I were married here on July 24, 1987. We eloped and being married here has given us a great memory. The gentlemen that married us said there was a shotgun in the corner and there actually was one. It has made a great story for us. We are still going strong. more

This is just a building not a church or anything that even resembles a church! Take the time out to save your money and get married in an actual church! Your memories will be far more eloquent and meaningful. My spouse and I attend a church so the cost was practically none existent so that speaks volumes for itself! Plus the preacher residing wasn't a stranger and most of the guests there also attends the church. So they were more than willing to help out and celebrate our day as if they were our family! Yes, its worth it, yes its more classy, yes these memories will be more heartfelt! I have to wonder though, if there are more atheists than I am aware of..?!?! more

We went to Lavern's Wedding Chapel and eloped! On October 12, 2010 It was a very nice place and the people was very helpful! Me and Gilmer Joel Cuc Guarcas went down there with a couple of our friends and my mom it was fast and was already set up! We picked Lavern's because most of my family was married at Lavern's and they all been married over 27 years and was a upgrade for me since the last time I eloped at the court house! I would recommend Lavern's to everyone! Great place for new memories! more

I highly recommend Lavern's to anyone wanting a fast wedding. My husband & I went to Lavern's in February of 2007 for our wedding. It was fast & cheap. And the Chapel is set up like a real wedding chapel. We got married on February 12th of 2007 while my husband was on leave from Iraq. It was nice because we didn't have to wait & we had time to take our honeymoon to Texas before he went back to iraq. The staff was friendly & the video we bought of the occasion was wonderful. We won't forget Lavern's. more

Because of the waiting period to get married here in Kansas, John and I made the 3+ hour drive to Miami, OK to get married several years ago. We had heard that Miami was the first town across the Missouri/Oklahoma border in which there were wedding chapels... others we knew had also made the same trip for the same reason. At the time, it actually seemed quite romantic as we didn't have to get married at the courthouse! ;) Anyway, we were quite pleased with our spur of the moment low-cost wedding and would definitely recommend Lavern's to others. The entire process (blood test, marriage license, wedding) took less than a hour. Important facts you should know when considering Lavern's: They are open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. *Evenings, Weekends, and Legal Holidays by appointment (additional $20 fee). Costs: Oklahoma Marriage License $50 (Courthouse is directly across the street) Wedding/Pastor/2 Witnesses $50 TOTAL: $100 The chapel is a church-like setting with 6 pews that seat 21 people decorated with white and wine colored roses. Decor includes: brass arch, kneeling bench, flowers and candelabras. Bouquets, Garters, Corsages, Balloons, Pens, Video, Polaroid Pictures, etc... are also available, We brought our own camera and the staff at Lavern's snapped some pics for free!
