LOVE THIS PLACE...great atmosphere and amazing food 8/25/2008

I have been here twice with my Fiance and we LOVE IT. Its not a cheap place but I think well worth every penney we spent. The first time we went there it was Valentine's Day and it was crazy busy!!!! It did take a little bit for us to get seated but I think it was other people being late and not really the restaurants fault. We had the souflee both times and they were to die for!!! The 2nd time we did not wait at all and the food was just as great as I had remembered it 6 months ago. If you can order some wine, I would highly recommend it there...reasonable prices and good service. I can't wait to go back! Pros: great food and very romantic!!! Cons: a bit expensive but still VERY WELL WORTH IT more

Excellent Service and food 2/27/2007

This is the best French restaurant in Dallas. I don't know what these other people are talking about. You must be the type of person that likes to complain a lot. Everytime I eat there, the food is excellent and the service, above par. Ask for Lisa next time and she will take good care of you. Pros: Service and food more

I went there for Restaurant Week. My friends and I were very disappointed. The service was non-existence. Wonderful Experiences Here 11/13/2005

One of our favorite restaurants , unfortunately a charmless strip shopping center. They have done a nice job of making the patio as secluded from the parking lot as possible. Always reminds of us of our honeymoon in the South of France. The atmosphere is very familial and warm. Everytime we go, we just ask the waiter what he recommends for wine and we are treated to very reasonably prices gems. The food is delicious and comfortable - the beef stew is the perfect cold weather treat. I highly recommend Lavendou and have brought many friends to share in the experience. Snobsville 1/15/2005

This is definitely a ""stuffy/snobby place"". They seat customers here by what you wear. Furs and leather jackets got seated in the back of the restaurant. Those of us who were casual dressers were all were seated in the front near the window. This was a Saturday night at 6:30PM, we had reservations and they were not full. Our server came up to us, NEVER told us about the night's specials and brought out a wrong entree - casually apologizing. The bus servers weren't much better as they filled one glass with water, but not the other person's glass. The Roasted Duck was outstanding in all of this mess. We will not go back.
