Stmada, You should be ashamed of yourself for lack of etiquette. I was a guest there when you were checking out and overheard everything since you put up such a foolish scene. I would have to say, the owner, had to deal with one crazy group of customers like you who refused to pay the ""18%"" service charge because (you had a group of 6 or more) ""never heard such a thing"". Since you look like your a pregnant teen and couldn't afford a lavish event like this anyways, justifying your embarrassing actions on City Search is ridiculous. We heard your accusations and they were totally out of line. Next time you have a special occasion...do it yourself and don't put your cheap tactics onto anyone else. more

I've been going to the Lavendar Tea House for years and its always great Pros: Great Tea, Great atmosphere Cons: nothing more

The place is cute and the food & tea are very good. However the customer service here is terrible. We scheduled my baby shower here and after the first visit when we decided to book it there it went down hill from there. We needed to finalize the details of the shower so we scheduled another appt to do so. When we showed up for the appt they were closed. After that we could never get a hold of anyone. No one returned our calls or emails even when we would call during open hours- they were closed. If we didn't put a $100 deposit down we would have cancelled. The owner Jamie finally called my mom about a week or so before the shower and had nothing to say about the poor customer service. I actually was wondering when we pulled up the day of the shower if they were going to be open. They were open and after a very rude and high strung owner talked to us when we first got there the actual shower went well and my friends and family enjoyed themselves. The owner was no where in sight during the shower. After everyone had gone and my mom went to pay they told her it would be more than they told us to begin with. We tried to explain that we didn't feel comfortable paying more taking into account the hassles we had prior to the shower and the fact that they told us a different price when we scheduled. (The lady we originally met with no longer worked there.) Instead of the owner trying to reach a compromise with us she began yelling in our face how we have to pay that amount or she will call the police! She was insulting us and was talking over us when we were trying to explain our point of view. I couldn't believe this lady. We of course didn't want any further conflict so I paid what she was demanding but I was disappointed in the experience. This is my first baby and I hope when I look back at the shower I don't think of the rude owner that just about ruined the day. She needs to take a lesson in proper customer service. This establishment has wonderful service and staff. They serve an elegant tea service in a friendly atmosphere. This is a perfect location to meet friends for a quiet afternoon of catching up. This is also a great place for children that enjoy quiet role playing, with a dress up corner, delicious food and novice friendly tea flavors. Overall, a wonderful setting for a few quiet moments for adults or to introduce children to the wonderful world of high tea and etiquette. more
