Laundry Restaurant

I don't write many reviews, but this restaurant that has a 1 to 2 hr wait and alll the buzz associated with it is just plain awful. It was a Saturday night, everyone at our table ordered clam chowder. Only one out of the 6 came out and was cold. We were told the rest would come out shortly, utimately arriving 15 minutes later. I ordered the halibut, and out of the kitchen came a cold piece of white tasteless mass, bearing 1 tiny littleneck clam, no capers, a half a grape tomato and two quarter in square pieces of bacon all of which the menu boasted. When I compained that there were hardly any of the items on the plate that the menu boasted the waiter came out with a bowl full of bacon to put on my fish. This place was truly truly dissapointing. After having been to Laundry nearly every month for two years (except when they closed to move locations), the service and food are taking a nose dive. What used to be a great space with sumptuous food and speedy service, is now running on fumes. The buzz in the culinary circles of EH say that the Laundry is now on spin cycle, but even with my past experiences there recently, I thought I'd give them one more try - for a birthday dinner. Went this past weekend again (benefit of the doubt). Forget it. The service was atrocious, and the food was dubious, to say the least.
