Lauden Pharmacy

I go to Lauden Pharmacy for my compounded prescriptions for both myself and my pups. They have the most professional and the nicest staff I have ever encountered at any store or pharmacy that I've gone to. In fact, two of the young women that work at the front are some of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever known. They are two of the biggest reasons I choose Lauden Pharmacy for my prescriptions. They exude kindness and compassion. It's never faked or forced, it's genuine. I have never gone into the pharmacy when they didn't take the time to greet me with a big smile and ask about my pets or about my health. They're very efficient at doing their jobs, and I've not had one mistake in all the years I've been going there. Ray has always given me time to discuss any questions I may have about my prescriptions. He's always very professional and informative. I was so sorry to read the negative reviews on this website because Lauden Pharmacy and it's entire staff certainly deserve much, much better. more

I have used Lauden Pharmacy every month for several years for pet medicine. They are wonderful and do a great job! We are fortunate to have a local compounding pharmacy in the area. I used to have to get compounded meds from Monterey and pay for shipping. I do wish they had a online refills though, that is my only feedback. more

First off, let me say that If I could give this pharmacy negative stars-I WOULD!. They are awful. My daughter gets a compounded medicine because she is very young and since this is the ONLY compounding pharmacy in the area, my pediatrician called our script in here. Besides being completely overpriced, the front desk staff is completely incompetent. When I got in to get my prescription I waited approx 10 minutes for the girl to ""look up"" my daughters name, then to only ask me what her name was again? The staff gets lost in back quite often not returning with your goods for quite some time. NOTE: this place is Very small. So the second time I returned and went through the hassle of getting my daughters meds I went home and for a few days my daughter REFUSED to take her meds. I finally tasted the compounded medication only to find it was not flavored!? What? It was basically salt water and crushed up pills and tasted nasty. I immediately called the pharmacy only for them to tell me that they don't flavor infant compounds normally. I then explained that everytime I have gotten the medication it has been flavored and it says Strawberry on the bottle! She dumbfoundedly told me that I could come in and they would flavor it. I told her this is crazy because we live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and it is not convenient for us to ""just come down"" with a 4 month old. I then asked to speak to the manager for a refund. She then said she would speak to the magager. I said I would wait. She was very confused and then said he wasn't in and I could talk to him next time I came in. What kind of BS business is this? Do not go here unless you HAVE to. Soon enough I will not need compounded medication anymore and will be taking my business back to my great pharmacy in Felton-Rite Aid! Ugh horrible horrible pharmacy. Don't waste your time. more

Ray at Lauden Pharmacy in Capitola on 41st. ave. price gouges on hormones. His prices are extremely high and he keeps raising them. His pharmacists are unable to answer basic questions about ingredients etc. But the worst is the over pricing of the hormone creams. I moved my prescription to Town Center Pharmacy in Palm Desert 760.341.3984 because they are $100.00 cheaper and they use high quality ingredients that don't make my skin break out like Rays cheap quality ingredients but high prices. The last problem I'll mention was the changing of the doctors prescription. Yes, he decided that my doctors prescription was not what he wanted to fill, the ingredients were not what he was used to using. I felt it right away after using my creams and told him something was wrong. I told him to talk to my doctor and my doctor set him straight. He changed the prescription back to what my doctor ordered. This guy is out for the almighty buck...watch out. He seems nice but he'll screw you on the bill. more

I really like this pharmacy. It's an old-fashioned compounding pharmacy. They even make special meds for pets. They have lots of homeopathics and the pharmacist, Ray, is knowledgable and gives free consultations on how to use the homeopathics. There is also a desk there with reference books you can look things up in! Best of all, there's almost never a waiting line!\r \r The girls at the cash register never smile and are not very friendly, but don't let that put you off. Pros: helpful pharmacist, no long lines Cons: not open weekends more
