Well here is another chef that is trying to be some one their not.. a famous name but not at all like the real thing...this place needs some work. waited forever for a table very small place. then service was so slow the wait staff had no knowledge of menu or wine. very busy road and alot of noise be carefull crossing the road to restrooms.. which are messy and small. food I have to say was ok but for the price it should be..I am glad i tried it ,but never again more

Awesome Food!!!!!! 5/13/2008

Not only was the food great but the service was also outstanding. Not to mention a very complete wine selection. It was a very pleasant dining experience. I would describe the atmosphere as quaint. Not a lot of seating so I would recommend reservations. Pros: Ambience, Service, Quality Cons: Parking more

Not as good as it once was 2/18/2007

This place was great when it first opened. It was comfortable, relaxed, and a fun environment. They had great pastries that were baked each morning. Great coffee, spectacular drink specials and a tuna salad sandwich that was to die for. The staff was friendly and upbeat. And then something happened. The Shore Club was no longer open and all of a sudden, Latte Da is getting fancy schmancy hoity toity. The current staff is not as friendly as the original and the food is not that good either. I was very disappointed. In my honest opinion and that of other past patrons, it seems like they are trying to make up for the Shore Club, a business that failed. It was so nice to stop in in the morning and have a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. Also, my friends and I aren't able to have our book club meetings at Latte Da in the gathering room. Wolfgang's is too much for the area that it is in. All I have left to say is, bring Latte Da back. Find your original staff and bring them back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am the type of person that would enjoy the current establishment but for the area, I prefer the original. Pros: Great View Cons: Too much for the neighborhood more

Lakeside atmosphere seasons some of the best food in town, and great people watching 6/21/2006

We arrived at 8 pm, and it bookended a perfect evening. Latte Da itself is a small converted house that sits across the street from the White Bear Lake marina, but there is patio seating, and best--if you're willing to wait--a cluster of tables set right on the shore under a magnificent old cottonwood tree. (The wait staff has to race across the road with food.) You should try to go later in the evening when the sailboats are whisking across the sun-spilled lake. As the stars emerge, the tanned boaters moor their boats and the wharf lights blink on, red, pink, green, yellow. Lights ring the cottonwood . As you sip some of the most scruptious coffee in town--no milk necessary--and dine on a mediterranean pizza with a cracker crust so crunchy and flavorful you want to kick your heels, neighboring tables provide an entertaining distraction--classy granola couples in Teva sandals; platinum-club golfers with firm handshakes and gold watches, who confuse dining out with corporate networking; surgically-altered trophy wives; divorcees; suburban couples with 2.5 kids; working stiffs. The piece de resistance is the food, provided by Chef Wolfgang (formerly of WH Frost), and the atmosphere is all the seasoning you need. Bravo to Latte Da Bistro! Pros: Food, wait staff, ambiance Cons: Waiting for a table more

Five star cheff really knows his food 4/29/2006

This little Bistro has provided some of the best food I have had since I moved here 20 years ago. The price is upscale but worth every penny. If you do not have a lot to spend on dinner just go for desert and coffee. more
