The isles in this place are so tidy and well stacked. There are no unenthusiastic things that you can bring up about this place but the carts, I loathe the carts in here. more

A hidden treasure 4/14/2011

I had always wondered about Las Americas but never visited because I figured it was more of an 'authentic' place and quite honestly, was afraid of a language barrier. My awesome mechanic next door, ESSY AUTO, suggested it while I waited for new brakes. What a treasure I had been missing for unfound reasons. more

Best papusas ever 8/27/2008

It's hard to believe I've been going there frequently for 5 years and the worst I can say is the chicken was dry once and the waitresses are a little slow bringing the check sometimes. They are just that consistently good. A couple tacos, a papusa and a coke for less than $7? With table service? Unheard of. Pros: Great value Cons: Exterior more

Pupusas!! 5/6/2007

I'm a big fan of the small little latin american restaurants and taco trucks on Nolensville but this one beats them all. The price is great. The food is great. But the Pupusa's take the prize. Go there and get a bean and cheese pupusa, its a thick corn tortilla pancake stuffed with beans and delicious cheese (there are several options for stuffing but I always stick with the bean and cheese). Its by far my favorite new food of 2007. Pros: price, food, service Cons: location more

best Mexican in town 4/3/2007

I have been to many Mexican restaurants in Nashville, and this is by far the closest to actual Mexican/Central American dining I've found so far. The burrito Las Americas is the best burrito in town (and at $3.99, possibly the cheapest). The tacos are authentic, fresh and delicious. And the specialty item, the pupusa, is fantastic. Service is always good, even if communication is occasionally difficult. Don't let the bars on the windows and somewhat trashy-looking exterior keep you from discovering one of Nashville's best-kept secrets. Pros: wonderful food, even better prices Cons: sometimes crowded, only average atmosphere more

Best you could possible wish for! 9/13/2006

I have been only a few times, because I no longer live in Antioch, but this place is the best. It was recommened to me by a local, who happens to be hispanic. He was right. Expect a restaurant where most of the customers speak English as a second language and your waitress too. It is worth it, the food is awesome! Make sure you try the Pupusa! Pros: The food and ambience Cons: Hard to communicate with staff, try pointing at the menu. more

Decent mexican food, a Nashville surprise! 8/19/2005

So far only had the huevos rancheros, but the beans and rice were decent, such a surprise for Nashville! Pros: good food, cheap more

Best Mexican food in Nashville 4/22/2004

This is one of the best authentic mexican restaraunt in Nashville. Pros: inexpensive, delicious, filling Cons: , bad location, small parking lot more

Las Americas has that undiscovered feeling. If you don't speak Spanish, you'll probably stand out. Well-prepared dishes from Mexico and El Salvador make for a refreshing change...
